Honest Non-emotional Football response

Our Offensive line is terrible. Center and Tackle positions are lacking. It will be a long season if this is the product that this team is offering. I would like to know if we have other options at center. Depth is a major issue, the starters are not great but the falloff behind them is remarkable. Number 76 should find other transportation home, and not back to Charlotte. This is the worst Offensive line action I have seen in 10 years.

Could be wrong but i believe the first sack was on Manhertz not the oline if that matters to anyone.

Anyways I need to see more in-depth play calls and a larger sample size to fully judge the offensive line. Obviously played poor but on the bright side Mccaffrey looked terrific in pass protection.

We were pushed off the line, I don’t need to see the replay. There were no holes in the run game and the QB’s had very little time. The play where newton was injured was a A gap blitz. The Tackle did a decent job on that play but the internal pressure was high. Very poor play on the line all game long. It is as bad as I have ever seen. No homer glasses on, just judging what I saw. I do think we were playing our 2nd string oline against their starting defense, so that needs to be considered. That is the only reason to look at the tape is for assignments and personnel, otherwise I would burn it if I were Matsko.

They did blitz a lot, not that it makes it better.

I'm disappointed not in the results, but the total lack of passion.  They lack of any emotion other than indifference.

This team played with the same emotion that Rivera shows on the sidelines.

I don't even know what Im hoping for?

What’s up y’all, its been a long time since I’ve posted, but with watching the game and not understanding the injury I knew the best place to come was here.

First off OP, this is where your post completely gets highjacked.

Let me just start off by saying that NE has a top 5 Defense In the League this year. Yes they’re gonna be that good. Our defense looked porous against the run, but I feel like the secondary played much better.

Regardless of aesthetics, it was 7-3 at half against the defending champs. We only had 29 yards of total offense that first half but hats another story. Our O-Line is in much better shape this year than it was this time last year.

Overall we played against the gold standard and Cam only played in the 1st qtr. I liked some things I saw and was concerned about others. The next meaningful game will beat BOA against the Rams.

Between and then there will cuts, PS guys signed, and plussing up from other teams cuts. Trust the process.

I love all of you and have missed you!

Maybe this is my issue, no accountability or passion for the position. You can’t coach talent you either have it or you do not have it. Backup QB is an issue as well, as they have to see how the play is developing, but the oline did not help the QBs tonight and it was bad.

Absolutely NE has a great defense, but to see the oline get pushed like that is hard to watch. I’m talking starters to, there were very few gaps to run through and very little time to react. That is scary for a young developing QB. You can only run so many max protect plays, and in the third quarter that’s what it took. I appreciate your response just wanted to see more from the oline, I would love to see them take it personally and play off the ball and move some bodies.

I originally thought this could be one of our best o-lines, but man, they're looking real rough right now. I'm a glass half full kind of guy, so I'll say they're still working out the kinks and will be ready to go for the regular season.

I think our first string will be ok, the second string back is a major issue. We have no depth and I hate calling players out, these guys are trying to get a job. Some should take this personally and make some adjustments, it’s all I’m saying. 29 yards at half, world champs or not, that’s bad.

    • I suppose it depends on what you mean as 'elite'. I typically mean someone that can play with lower level pieces around them and still win. There are very few of those.
    • It would obviously be incredible if Brooks came back and just ran away with the job on his opportunities like Rico Dowdle did last year. But any Panthers fan that has been around the block knows better than to go ahead and make plans for that. Brooks has missed a ton of not just playing time but meaningful early career growth in a league that has increasingly devalued the position from an investment standpoint beyond one or two superstars. There's really not any comparison to look back on that lines up with the current iteration of the league at least not favorably. The key thing that this RB room has going for them is our investment in the OL. The highest paid OL in the league two years in a row paired with our staff should make it easier for just about any RB to get into open running lanes. But that is also anything but a given considering our OL was largely middle of the pack last year. In the end it might all be a moot point anyways if we again struggle to establish a viable passing attack.
    • I don't have him making the team and I think same goes for the staff, but they are hopeful for a PS spot.    I mean of course I'd like 3 all-world at RB and every spot, just doesn't work that why. Panthers normally carry 3. dan always talk up Etienne, even called him a future star.....I think Brooks will be fine as a 2 with health pls.....  Chubba can carry a seasons load as lead dawg.    Its fine, I mean backup OGs or CB is much higher on my worry scale(Id even put QB room as worse than RB room too...)
