yeah, but that ignores the fact Bill behaved the same way before he won all those games.   It isn't like Belichick started acting like that only when he got Brady and became a good coach.  I mean, what Ron did isn't really a story or unusual.

Oh, it's definitely a story, at least in Pantherland. And it's probably not a story Ron needed given everything else that's going on.

Now, if he wins on Sunday, it'll probably go away. But if he loses on Sunday, then he has to stand in front of the same reporters he walked out on having just lost a game.

Not hoping we lose but if/when we do, I can't wait to watch him squirm.

Pat Kirwan is one of the most respected football men in the media.

I have no idea if he actually said any of this, but if he did, it’s probably coming from a place of experience.

That was the gist, obviously he said it a lot more eloquently than I summarized.

I mean someone will sneeze at restaurant and someone will make it a story in today's world.  And yeah, some people will fake outrage over that.

but really, what Ron did has been done a billion times by better and worse coaches.

I'd agree it's relatively minor, but it's relative to Ron's position.

When you're on the hot seat - and let's be real, Ron is - stuff like this isn't a good look.

He has a young backup QB about ready to go play a must win road game....and that is a must win for a LOT of people.

So yeah, frankly I agree w/ Ron.  He has better things to do than entertain reporters droning on about Cam when has got nothing for them on that.   I mean, Ron can't get away w/ that every presser.  But I certainly give him that rare wiggle room to call it off.  Ron in general talks more than most coaches.   He has a lot of work to do before they fly out.

There is a ton of stuff to bash Ron on.  But dealing w/ reporters isn't a negative of his.  I'd say today's incident is on a group of reporters who failed to recognize a situation and how good they have had it.

There was literally nothing new to offer on the Cam front. I know everybody wants to know more, but when you start to get the sense that nobody’s going to give you anything on that, it’s a good idea to start asking other questions.

Relevant questions.

Disagree, but like I said, we'll see what happens Sunday.

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
