Cam Gives A Detailed Video Update About Why He is Sidelined (Friday Sept 27th)

I get a lot of people here don't like Rivera.

But can we please stop with the idea Ron Rivera forced Cam to play? It's very clear that Cam doesn't want to play unless hs is literally incapable of playing, and now he's said it's basically to the point that he hid injuries. That's on Cam, and that attitude of not wanting to let the team down is big in football. I love Cam and I hope he rests and gets healthy, and this is a big thing for him to do.

I appreciate the transparency...but I hate that he didn’t learn a lesson from last season and continued to trot himself onto the field for the first two games knowing that him being under Center was hurting this team.  I hope he heals and can get back to being the old Cam.  But I also hope that Allen plays so well that Rivera is forced to make an uncomfortable decision when that time comes.

Any player is going to want to play. It's up to Ron to sit the player when they clearly aren't healthy.

Sure that’s valid. Ron was way too late sitting him last year but it’s also hard when someone you’ve been close to for 8+ years is lying to you and saying that everything is fine because you want to believe him.

Man, I'm gonna miss this guy when he's really gone. We're really lucky to get to have Cam as our QB and to have seen his career unfold. He's insanely talented and he's a character and he's a real dude-- plenty of teams can find talented guys who can be robots off the field. I always appreciate seeing someone show emotion and go off script to be real instead and connect with the fans.

From the pouting and being pissed in the early years to dancing and dabbing on everyone to the sobering reality checks of his injuries. It's been a special trip to see.

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
