Only part I don't agree with (saw Steve Smith weirdly change his tune on this too).  It's like the Broncos keeping The Golden Calf of Bristol instead of going out and signing Manning because they went to the divisional round of the playoffs.

I liken the concept to why the Chiefs decided to draft Mahomes even though they were a perennial playoff team with Alex Smith or Clemson giving Trevor Lawrence the reigns even though Kelly Bryant had an amazing winning percentage.

 (designed runs and such)..

With Cams injury history, I have to imagine all designed runs will be out or extremely limited.

At this point the question is, who’s the better passer? Stats are looking close with Cam having far less fumbles but more prone to INTs.

Possible.

Given the context that he's saying they might want to stick with Allen even if Newton comes back healthy though, that would make me think his statement isn't injury related. If it were, then it would stop being true once Newton was healthy again.

Good point. We are also making the assumption Cam still has 100% potential. His new 100% might be closer to his previous 80%.

what is kind of interesting is that he changes his tune after being in the building. He may have heard some rumblings from the org that this might be the case that we roll with allen until we lose or he shows he can’t manage the game anymore. I’m not sure what to think of that. I wouldn’t even say Allen is a hot hand anymore but I get winning streaks and vibes are real and you don’t wanna mess that up. But if Cam comes back 100% he definitely gives us the best chance to win purely from an ability standpoint. It’s gonna be realllllly interesting to see what happens.

That thought has crossed my mind.

Norv suggested the opposite before the Arizona game.

That was several weeks and many practices ago so you can't really go by that.

I don't think it's so much stick with ALLEN , but stick with CMC. Allen has made a few plays but really it's the defense and CMC. Cam needs game time and needs to be brought along. You can not just park Cam and if needed later on in the season expect him to be world beater. It's a hard place to be in. In one I say yes put Cam in but if he messes up then go back to Allen...neither option is fair. I think Cam is stuck no matter what tho.

that's the giveaway that he's not watching the games or he's speaking emotionally because the passing game has very obviously been simplified

that's what happens when you're in max protect because of a crappy o-line.   would they have run max protect with cam out there?  i don't know.  they don't seem to mind getting cam killed, or helping a tackle who's whiffing when cam plays.  its mind boggling

Steven A said it last week...he said “yes you can lose your job to injury” when talking about Allen and Cam.

Drew Bledsoe did.  The thing is Allen is winning but it's not bc of his spectacular play but balls that we could not secure in the Rams game bit us. Cam played well enough in the first loss just the 2nd loss he stunk it up really bad and defense could not bail him out.Close losses but needed Cam to be better. This is not simple bc Cam wasn't playing good from the first 2 starts and whose to say he will when the comes back. I love me some Cam haven't watched a game since. I'm just going by what comments I have been reading.
