Daley? Any thoughts on how he did?

PFF thought he was the best LT of the week.

“LT DENNIS DALEYCAROLINA PANTHERS

For a sixth-round draft pick making just his second start, it doesn’t get much better than this. Daley was impressive in pass protection, allowing just one hit from 36 pass-rushing snaps, and he really impressed as a run blocker, producing an 86.0 PFF run-blocking grade in the game.”

Damn. Very nice! We are really lucky.

I know Ron was high on him in camp so I’m glad it’s working out.

Jacksonville and Tampa both have legit pass rushers. Daley has played really well. I’m not sure I give that job back to Little just yet.

However I’m also not at practice everyday but from a games standpoint it’d be hard to convince me that Daley should head back to the bench when Little is healthy.

Yeah I really wouldn’t know how to handle this one. Almost seems more difficult than the QB decision. If Little clears protocol, I would have a really hard time taking it away from Daley. But at the same time ideally the future on the left side is Little at LT and Daley at LG. Then again GVR has been solid too so are you going to bench him and put Daley at LG where he hasn’t played yet and is an unknown? What if Daley is the better LT but Little is a bad LG? Do you go with the best LT or the best combination of LG and LT? I think I’m rambling at this point and I haven’t even gotten into scenarios where Trai comes back and Little is still out and whether you put Daryl at LG in GVR’s place. I guess it finally feels nice to actually have more good OL than you actually need.

Dude get out of my brain! Why are we having the exact same thoughts? Also why am I yelling?

I’m just glad we don’t have an injured super high priced long time veteran LT that we were debating should get his starting position back because between that and the Qb situation my debating brain skills can only take so much abuse

I’m not putting Daryl Williams on the left side of the line no matter what. Tackle or guard, it’s a definite no from me.

Williams can serve as Turner’s replacement for the time being then can serve as the first back up in case Moton or Turner (again) goes down.

But yeah, Daley... this isn’t like the QB situation because Little has only one game experience not 8 years with an MVP award. Is this Little’s second concussion or did his symptoms resurface from his 1st? Because if it’s his second that’s concerning moving forward.

Our OL will get their toughest test after the bye week. We’ll definitely need all hands on deck. I think I’d stay with Daley and GVR for SF just due to them playing together the last two weeks and having developed a little more chemistry than Little and GVR. We can’t afford any little errors due to lack of playing time together.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
