I...I dont like you.  Opposing fans are supposed to be a-holes, and I'm not supposed to like them, but you seem like a really cool dude.

Lol this is funny I’ve seen Marvin on a lot of forums great guy. And very very knowledgeable. He had one of the most popular threads on the webzone for years but that place got toxic

So...Niner receivers other than Sanders:

1) Deebo Samuel: The future. Dude is crazy talented. Problem is he makes rookie mistakes and has had some butterfingers here early. In what will be a recurring theme, great in space. Kick Returner in colllege. Also banged up and missed last week not sure he's playing this week.

2) Dante Pettis: Maddening. Crazy good in space (record holder for Punt return TDs in college), crazy good at the line. Gets wide open...drops the ball. Gets open deep, won't go up and fight for it and ball gets picked off. runs a good pattern on a slant, ball bounces off his hands into the air and intercepted. Just like Samuel, makes ALOT of young player mistakes and needs that vet presence Sherman gave them among the DBs. I think that's what Samuel is about.

3) Jalen Hurd: Looked GREAT in first preseason game, hasn't played since. 6'4" Ex-RB who looked fantastic. Hairline fracture of a disk in his back has sidelined him. On IR, will probably be elevated later in season. This is another "the future" guy like Samuel.

4) Trent Taylor: Excellent slot guy, was really good as a rookie and Jimmys go-to late that year. Sucked last year after back surgery, looked great again in camp this year and now on IR with broken foot. Also might be back later in the year.

5) Marquise Goodwin: One of the few guys anyone actually knows anything about nationally...he is what he is. Stretches defense, runs a few sweeps, and at times looks great. At others looks like a track start playing WR...and I don't mean that as compliment. Awesome guy tho. Great in community.

6) Kendrick Bourne: OK WR, decent size, OK route runner, tends to make mistakes on routes. Kinda JAG.

7) Jordan Matthews: likely inactive if he's even on the roster in a few days.

Shanahan loves open space guys....kick returners, ex-RBs, etc because he can scheme them into open space.

DAMN!!

Forgot Ritchie James.  :)

7th rounder who doesn't get alot of play, but seems to come through big when needed. Scored Jimmys only TD pass in week one. Had the only long reception last week. Slot guy who runs great routes, but not intimidating phyisically. Not real fast or big.

Yes he did.

In fact, several runners have had decent averages per carry this year.

It's because they won't stack the box. I guarantee you that CMC will have at LEAST a decent game statwise. I make no claim that he will be shut down.

What I am wondering tho is how this Pass D plays after giving up 176 yards over the last three weeks combined.

I wouldn’t expect too much out of Allen yard wise unless our wr’s get yac. He’ll be getting the ball out quickly.  But he’s done a great job of distributing the ball and he’s been pretty good with 3rd downs.

cmc, Moore and Samuel are electric. When they have the ball in their hands they have the ability to take it to the house anywhere on the field. This offense runs through cmc though and he opens up plays for those other two. The bucs sold out to stop him and that’s why we saw big days for the other two. Your linebackers are going to have to be special Sunday to contain him. He was getting doubled and even triple teamed against the bucs. It was ridiculous. He’s that special right now.

This might help the 9ers for weeks 10-17 but for this week idk.  If they really wanted to get him to play against us they should have got him last week and given him at least 1 week to get some kind of timing down with special needs jimmy GIF by South Park

Probably should have traded a 1st and a second last week if they wanted him to play us.

    • Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did.  Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong.   That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??!  His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.
    • Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there. It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2... It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce. That's not a great thing.
    • The changes to onside kicks were ridiculous and ruined a significant part of the game     It was already a high risk low reward play.  Why change it?
