If the Panther's let Cam Newton go

I’d be highly disappointed if we gave in to this weird media crucifixion of Cam.

just do what’s best for the team in the end, we saw this similar narrative with lebron after he got hurt his first time in 14 seasons.

hopefully tepper and gang block out the noise and make rational decisions

No matter what?

I can't speak for Igo, but it'd take way more than parting with a player I like to get me to move on.

The Richardson scandal was way worse than this, but the team handled it the right way. If they hadn't, that was the kind of thing that I could have seen making me ditch my loyalty.

Not this.

This is just football. I've seen it happen numerous times all around the league. Probably won't be the last time it happens with us.

Yes, by all accounts this team is going to suck next year either Kyle Allen or Will Grier will be leading the tank. Unless you think we’re winning anything worth a poo next year.

lol at the rest of your post, I have not posted anything that would suggest I’m particularly bent out of shape because Cam returning this year is unlikely. You getting offended because I mentioned a very real possibility that this team is going full blown rebuild after letting Cam and numerous 1-year rentals go this off-season is your insecurities jumping out. Not mine.

What evidence supports your claim we will be in full blown tank mode next year?

I see a potential MVP running behind a very promising and young Oline with two playmaker WRs.

And I see a young set of edge rushers leading the NFL in sacks, with a talented LB core led by an all time great and a quickly emerging Shaq with two very good CBs holding down the outside. They are currently 5-1 in their last 6 games.

So maybe you are just projecting your insecurities on to the team. Because right now they have literally been proving you wrong lol

and he is actually healthy and able to play.  I might be done with this team.  And you can check my post history. I am not reactionary or dramatic, and I have been a fan since the days of home games at Clemson.

This staff ran him into the ground, allowed him to play injured, and threw him under the bus whenever they needed a scape goat.

I know you are all going to say, "I am a fan of the team, not one player". I get it, I used to say the same thing, but this move (if he gets healthy) would show that we wouldn't stand by our guy, who literarily gave it his all. Every. Single. Game.  Thomas Davis tore his fuging ACL 3 times and we stayed with him.

We failed him. And then abandon him after two weird injury seasons.  Poo me all you want, but this will have some bad karma,

I agree for the most part. Cam was ahead of his time here. The FO and fan base took him for granted. I do think Cam does share some criticism and at times has looked complacent in his game but has always been an underrated player and person for us.   Really hope we give him one more shot at full strength.

Sad thing is, if that was to happen a lot of these "fans" would be happy about it.

I'm not gonna feel bad if we win without Cam Newton.

I'm not gonna feel bad if we win without Christian McCaffrey.

I'm not gonna feel bad if we win without Luke Kuechly, Greg Olsen, James Bradberry, Shaq Thompson or pretty much anybody else.

I wish all of those guys the best, but the bottom line is I want to see the Panthers win. Who they do that with isn't really a big priority to me.

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
