Firing Rivera= Full rebuild

Olsen is gone, Shaq and Bradberry might elect new teams, Cam will likely elect elsewhere with uncertainty and his last year under contract being in a brand new system. Ron has been here for now almost 9 years, new coaches almost never come in and win... There is one coach that could be on the market that is proven enough to keep this team together... Jim Harbaugh. His last season in SF was 8-8 and had success almost his whole time there. If our 1st is high enough with a 6-10 7-9 finish, we could possibly command a trade up for Hurts, Herbert, or Burrow. Likely only need top 5 to get any of those 3 names, possibly top 7 depending on the teams... There is zero scenario Cam comes back on a contract year to play for a new coach with the injury risk. But this locker room is pro Ron, just don't see it being kept together with FAs once he leaves.

Michigan loses to Ohio State again, we likely will be in the running for JH... a man can only hope.

If you think high draft picks are important I urge you to research how many former first round draft picks are currently starting for us on Defense.  I think there are 9.  How's that defense looking?!?

Top draft picks get to hang around mostly because they are top draft picks.    No one gives up on a top 10 pick until the 4th year.   3rd rounders get a year, maybe two if they flash.

There is a built in bias for high draft picks to succeed.  Otherwise GM's would be exposed as the dart throwing monkeys that they are.

There is no meaningful difference in roster talent among the 32 NFL teams.  Every team has 53 guys that have survived one of the most rigorous weeding out protocols known to man.

Year over year Success is based in culture and coaching.   The GM is responsible for the culture and the Head Coach is responsible for, well, the coaching.

    • this would be a horrible mistake but sounds like a panther type move
    • QB Trey Lance still runs fast, showcasing significant speed in games. While he was clocked at an elite 21.54 mph in college, suggesting high top-end speed, his college tape also indicated a tendency to seek contact and not slide, which were red flags to some evaluators, according to Reddit users. His running ability in the NFL has been highlighted in plays where he gains significant yardage and scores touchdowns, even when escaping pressure.
    • Come on, why don't we go get another short ass QB?  At least this one is an elite athlete with an actual cannon of an arm.  Still, hell no to it. We need a big guy back there.
