I can pick a couple plays and make any player A star or a failure.

If you actually looked at the article, you'd have known it was more than "a couple of plays".  And it shows plenty of bad plays, but explains why they were bad.  Its more to it than "Paradis looked bad".  Its why he was even in the horrible position he was in.

Paradis is not being used in Carolina like he was used in Denver.  This isn't a hard concept to get unless you refuse to look at tape.

Well when our tackles stop getting hurt and play better they can do right by paradis. Wlliams to a 1 yr deal was an excellent gamble, unfortunately his injury was apparently gruesome enough to damage his nfl carrer. He no longer posses the things that made him special in his agility or athleticism in general to be a starting tackle

I definitely agree that is part of the issue.  Instead of having our guards assist the Center (which is normal), they leave him isolated and have to assist our tackles.

Paradis should not be in the position he is being put in, and expecting him to hold down the fort in that aspect would make him the number 1 center in the entire NFL.

You mean watching again what I’ve seen a judge it through someone’s eyes that I have no knowledge or respect for. Sorry if this is your main source of knowledge I don’t take the ramblings of non-players/coaches too seriously.

You seem intent on blaming anyone but Paradis for sucking. Sorry, there aren’t enough excuses for that.

This article does a good job of showing how weakness at tackle can actually impact the center.

I'm still not sold on Paradis being great, but I did see some things in the article that made me at least maintain an open mind.  In the couple clips we see where a G chips the 0/1 at the snap, Paradis actually does pretty well.  In those clips, it seems he doesn't need a full time G helping him with a double team, he just needs someone to get a good quick punch on the 0/1 and then he's fine.

Makes more sense now. We really have had a revolving door at both tackle spots and Turner has seemed to get progressively worse when he's actually healthy. GVR isn't any better but no one expects him to be. Basically we have low talent level on our line because of poor coaching and roster design.

As the article shows, we ask Paradis to do things basically no center in the entire NFL is being asked to do, on a regular basis.  And that is directly leading to some of his mishaps.

While he does have some issues, those issues were known before we signed him.  Weaker at run blocking, smaller so power guys can push him back.  Nearly every team in the NFL doesn't have their Center alone in the position we put Paradis in.

About a month ago Frank Garcia was on WFNZ defending Paradis.  He also said we are asking him to do things that aren’t normal for most centers.  He said our issues at Tackle are making our guards help them and leaving Paradis on an island.

I honestly hope it's injury and he can recover from it but it's fair to think he's another Justin Hartwig

The Justin Hartwig that started for the Steelers the year after we cut him and was part of the Steelers' winning Super Bowl team for that season? That Justin Hartwig? I wouldn't mind that at all.

To be factual, he was on IR for 15 games his first year with us and played all 16 games his 2nd year, 2007. He was replaced in 2008 with Ryan Kalil, super stud extraordinaire.

Yeah, he wasn't a good player when he played for us. I stopped following when he left because he was so awful.

Of course they didn't read the article. These guys aren't looking for what's actually causing line problems, what they're looking for is a reason to neg Hurney for his free agency moves. The same guys that have poo on Paradis are doing it more for what I would refer to as sports politics than anything else.

Take the Green Bay game...

"OMG, LOOK AT THAT!" "IT'S LIKE HE'S WEARNIG SKATES, LOL WHAT A TRASH SIGNING"

Literally ignoring that the frozen ground, and the snow accumulating on the field... what do you think is going to happen with a center put on island? He's going to slide backwards. Silly.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
