More to the Gaulden situation?

Mr. Scot

I mean, he had essentially fallen out of the DB rotation so it's not surprising that he would feel this way. From the outside looking in, it seemed like they were attempting to give him every opportunity to earn a spot in the rotation giving him looks at both safety and at nickel, but maybe from his perspective he saw that as setting him back? Who knows. Now as a fan I'd say there's a reason for for all of this. Namely that he's not a good DB and he's a liability anytime he's on the field, including special teams. But, I'm sure he's a proud guy and as a former 3rd round pick I'm sure that he believes he has more to offer.

Time will tell, but I just don't think he's an NFL caliber football player either as a DB or as a special teamer.

He’s got to put on a brave face but who knows. Daryl Worley has a better PFF ranking than Bradberry, Donte and Reid. SMH, defensive genius coach my ass.

Would you put that in the category of saying "this team sucks, I need to get out of here"?

Just looking for clarification...

I'd always be hesitant to theorize that somebody was trying to get themselves cut.

Still...

I doubt he was trying to get himself cut, I just think that it's very plausible that he isn't exactly disappointed about having the opportunity to find a new and potentially better situation for himself.

There's also the possibility that he's simply trying to take a positive outlook on a negative situation. Going home to cry into your pillow thinking woe is woe is me isn't going to do you any good.

That what i liken this situation to the most . I think he will be better with another team . We never gave him a chance here . I think he can be solid but we will see. Of course I’ll fans will trash him just like we did with Worley . Who got all the blame from Ron and company . Those guys (coaching staff) don’t know talent if it was right in their pockets

    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
