pretty sure the point of that post was that any coach losing their franchise qb when our backups were horrible would tend to make the stats dip, alas, reading comprension isnt really this board's strong suit.

Best of luck, Ron! I'm sure you'll land on your feet elsewhere!

Well yeah, of course he is. He guided a 2-14 team to three consecutive division titles and a conference championship within five years and has a .546 winning percentage. Contrary to what some couch general managers here think, he’s widely respected throughout the league and gets along well with players. Most teams, especially those with openings, would see it as a clear upgrade.

Agreed. Most huddlers think that pete carrols and bill belichicks grow on trees. I mean. If you dont go 12-4 every single year you are garbage according to them. Even thoughbthere are only 3 or 4 coaches in the entire country capable of that.

This could end up being a huge mistake if we do t find the right coach. Some teams havent been able to find a coach as good as ron for 20+ years. I really hope tepper has something up his sleeve because we could be much worse than mediocre for a very long time.

this post serves no value to the conversation

Yeah, 54.6% definitely qualifies as "barely" in my book.

prior to his franchise qb getting injured he had an alltime record of 70-47-1, including getting 5 wins with a UDFA backup qb.

We traded the number one to Cincy in 95 for the number five pick and some others. They got Ki-Jana Carter who got injured in preseason and I'm not sure ever played a single down. We got Kerry Collins who looked okay for a year or two then decided his heart wasn't in it...at least not playing for us.

Boy, was that a productive trade.

I mean I get you...I think we have to start looking for a franchise QB immediately.  They are hard to find and there are no guarantees on Cam.

Of course he is.  Which is why if Tepper doesn't hit a home run with the next hire he's going to look like a reactionary idiot.  Especially if his judgement was based on a season in which we were essentially starting a rookie QB and had more than half of our lines go down with injury.

if....if

embrace the change.

Golly, I wonder why his QB became so injury prone after 8 to 9 years of being coached by Rivera?

Gee, ITS JUST A DAMN MYSTERY HOW SUCH A THING COULD HAVE HAPPENED.

Lovie smith was a hot name too after he got fired, norv Turner was once upon a moon too, so was john fox.  Hell, when I was a kid I remember mike Ditka coming back to new Orleans was gonna change everything.  He may be good somewhere else, and honestly I wish that for him, but it still doesn't mean it wasnt time for us to move on.
