Quick note regarding former ownership

I am grateful to Richardson for bringing a NFL team to the Carolinas, but he really seems to be an arrogant, sexist, and racist prick.  I admit I defended him for a while, just believing him to be an old-school guy, when the truth is that he is a pie

We all should be thankful everything transpired as it did and we ended up with Tepper.  Certainly there are unknowns about his next coach is going to turn out, but from a business and personal standpoint, he appears to be a massive, massive upgrade over "Mr. Richardson."

I’m right there in that boat with you buddy. I thought Richardson was a class guy based on what I knew, which admittedly wasn’t much that matters. Was extremely disappointing to be confronted with a lot of evidence that he seems to be a giant douche. Now grateful I’m not giving him undue respect based on a facade.

Hoping Tepper turns out better in any number of ways.

If David Tepper did this people would be laughing about his brass balls and toughness.

Can't speak for everyone, but I can honestly say I wouldn't.

Tepper sticking people with the check for lunches and dinners is kinda funny, mind you, but that's more of a mischievous thing. This comes off as aloof and disrespectful.

I met Richardson briefly, only once, upstairs club level While he was on his way to his box.... Panthers Bears games and I brought  a business associate  who was a Bears fan with a Bears jersey on  and I had a Smith Jersey on

His driver stopped his golf cart, JR broke into a big smile when he saw the surprise on our faces and joked about watching who I associated with, funny now

he was very nice  during that Interaction.   You never know about people

one thing I did share with him was a dislike of Dan Snyder.  It was so obvious when you could see them at BofA thus he wasn’t all bad lol

According to the story about the Los Angeles thing, he bashed and mocked  Rams Owner Stan Kroenke pretty hard in a meeting with Dean Spanos.

IMO People are seldom what they appear to be at that level

most of them don’t become rich because they are nice people or because they have integrity

put nicely, they are societal acceptable versions of Tony Soprano

No argument. There's an image that they present to the public, but it's not necessarily anything close to the real person.

Obviously, the revelations of recent years have told us that we didn't really know Jerry Richardson as well as we thought we did.

And hey, it's not like stories of rich and famous people being a--holes are exactly hard to find.

    • Madden has been in a bad state for well over a decade now but the best recent change they've made was making the rating distrubition harsher IMO. Whenever I try to play a MyLeague in the newer games pretty much every single one of your starters will be 85+ if you want to win a championship and you need probably 3 90+ guys. There's like zero seperation between the players on the court it seems like, someone ranked 85/99 should be a great player going off the percentage but instead that's essentially an average starter. Having a larger rating gap between the superstars and the JAGs highlights the difference in skill a lot better, whereas in 2K some team's 4th best defender can square up your 96 overall superstar thus causing the gameplay to feel rather homogenous.
    • I think, if the stars align, and the light comes on for XL and Metchie finds his way, and Brazzell's early returns are accurate--man, this team could be LOADED at WR.  Six will make it: TMac Coker XL Brazzell Metchie Tremayne Moore Horn
    • Personally, I think the Panthers would be a good place for a QB if he falls to maybe a 4th rounder or later.  I am not sure how they feel about the gambling and I am not sure of the details, but I think we have to plan for life without Bryce as much as we are planning for life with him.   I like Sorsby the player.  I see the Jets going after him if they have concerns about Klubnik-and they need competition for him anyway and a future replacement for Geno (who I think will suck back in NY).  Watch Atlanta, Cleveland, Indy, Miami, too, but Carolina is the team nobody is talking about, and Sorsby would be better than Kenny Pickett and maybe Haynes King is slated to always be the third QB/etc ST and Swiss Army knife--if he makes the team.   If Bryce falters, we need a QB who has potential, and Sorsby has it.  Pickett will never be a starter in this league, so his role is a #2.   I would be surprised if Morgan pulls the plug, but at worst he is a good backup and potential developmental starter.  To me-on paper--it makes too much sense.
