Coach tells everyone we are making the switch to a 3-4. GM drafts a stud 3-4 OLB in the first and another solid 3-4 OLB in the 4th.

GM goes on to sign another vet 3-4 OLB and a pass rushing DT to play 3-4 DE.

Jump to the regular season and coach immediately goes back to the same shitty 4-3 defensive scheme from last season and gets his ass fired for fielding one of the worst panthers defenses of the past decade.

Yeah, it's progressively gotten worse since the super bowl. This board goes the way the team goes.

The way our defense is playing, it doesn't matter that the coaches feels that Burns is too small for run support because we're allowing over 100 yards rushing per game. Maybe run defense would be better with Burn's speed on the field.

We have played a lot of 3-4 though, and it wasnt a particularly resounding success.  The lack of interior size and depth hurt bad.

Yeah, the injuries took a toll. I think what we arw seeing may be less of a change needing to be made in personnel but more of letting the front office get some more evaluations in on what exactly we have with some of our younger players. It would make sense with the Grier move.
