Panthers "doing homework" on David Shaw

I would rather have a coach with more NFL experience than Shaw. Ron had to learn on the job as a head coach and had been a DC for two teams. We don’t have time for Shaw to figure out how to be a head coach in the NFL.

He is a QB whisperer, and that is going to be a need in all likelihood. He is a tremendous people person and knows his Xs and Os.

What he lacks in experience (has many years as an assistant coach in the NFL) he makes up for in respect and character.  Players, when all the dust settles, play for their coaches.  If you have a coach who shows you how to win, expects it, and believes in you as a person, that coach is successful.

Look at Pete Carroll in Seattle--his players LOVE him.  Pretty sure he was a long-time college coach.  I support Shaw for the job 100% if you cannot tell.  Merry Christmas.

Just because you met him that time or think he’s a good coach? Seattle was Pete’s third NFL head coaching gig so he’s not a great example.

His resume is ass .. it's throwing poo at the wall and hoping it sticks, hiring Rhule, what Tepper would never do .. there is nothing to assume Rhule would even be able to command a locker room at the NFL level

Nonsense "possibility"

Well this take is completely rational.

Find me a better resume

He's coached in the NFL- Check

He's coaches special teams- check

He's coached defense (position coach at 2 positions on D)- check

He's coached QB's- check

He's coached offense (other position coach on offensive side)- check

He's been a HC- check

But let me guess some HC at a P5 school who puts up 45pts a game is the only resume's your looking for

Did I say that?

A: Nope.

There are a lot of people who think David Shaw is a good coach and would be an excellent NFL coach-nobody needs your blessing. Having met him once give me more insight into his character and leadership than you, unless he has visited your basement or dined during your shift at Le Maison d' Waffle, garcon.

Does this make him the new "clubhouse favorite"? Does each successive inquiry and homework mention by the insiders create a new favorite?

Or does logic suggest they are looking in to a bunch of options and we dont know anything about what Tepper thinks until a hire is made or at least second interview reports start to be reported.
