Panthers have met with McCarthy twice

I think McCarthy was similar to Rivera in GB, and it just was past that team's time, and I think he'd work fine for us for a few years. I wouldn't hate it as much as college coach for the sake of chasing trends (y'all know defenses adapt too, right.)

That said I think Josh McDaniels would be great and the most likely to keep Can on, as well as I think McDaniel's knowledge and Cam's leadership would make an excellent combo in Charlotte.

Rhule is the 2a to McCarthy's 2b, I think he'll want to bring in his own guy but I'd love to see what he can do with Moore and Cmc.

Through all of this, though, really curious as to who our DC would be.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mike McCarthey from 2009-2016 all winning seasons. ALL WINNING SEASONS. I will gladly take 7 straight years of winning seasons and 5 years of playoffs and one super bowl. Unless you guys want to have three years of rebuilding he is our best option. My opinion.

I totally agree, though I think more of McCarthey than most in this board, but that DC worries me tremendously.

McCarthy is intriguing. He is certainly more of a sure thing than any college coach.

He had Favre and Roger's his whole time. He had a good front office. We have qbs coming out of a clown car and no one knows what system we run in order to get talent. Sorry, but he had all the advantages there he wont have here. That is a disaster in the making.

    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
    • Ppl want to trade Melo? Am I wrong for thinking that would be a bad idea?
    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
