How so? Leaf failed in a big part because of his personality, which has been a large plus for Burrow according to all reports.  Also I’m not sure they are all that similar as prospects.

Dude I thought the same thing. But  for burrows sake I hope he isn’t cause leaf was a dam idiot

i don’t think they are similar in talent it was in some of his interviews he kinda reminded me of leaf.  Hopefully it’s just me being old and him being a millennial. Wish him the best in the nfl

For the record, Burrow reminds of Joe Montana.... legit. His poise, pocket presence, ability to make all throws and the additional ability to move around.

Also for the record, I don't think we move up for Burrow, but if we were to, here's what the Rams gave up to move from pick 15, to the 1st overall for Goff.......Burrow is light years ahead of what Goff was at Cal.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/15201946/tennessee-titans-trade-no-1-pick-los-angeles-rams

TLDR:

Rams trade:  First round pick (15th overall), two second rounders (picks 43 & 45), third round pick (76 overall)+ next year's 1st and 3rd round picks

Titans trade: 1st overall pick, fourth rounder (113 overall) and a sixth rounder (177 overall)

I am not a Goff fan but I think the Rams are a good example of how to approach the position.  You only get one shot at a franchise QB.  Once he's in the league, if he's the real deal, you can't have him at that point.  He's not going to leave his current team.  But for most other positions, you can make up for the shortcoming in picks in free agency.  Just go buy talented players, or trade for other teams good players.  Its certainly what the Rams did.

trading up for burrow wouldn’t be the same as rams trading up for Goff. The two players are entirely different and burrow would cost much more as a Heisman and national champion on top of how prolific his season was. Also considering cincy needs a franchise qb bad

it wouldn’t be worth it.

Bengals aren’t gonna take cam he needs a new contract and has been hurt the past 2 seasons when they can draft a younger, no injury concerned qb for a much cheaper contract. I’d be ok with trading luke to knock off a first. Even then I don’t think cincy would do it. They need a franchise qb badly.

This isn’t a madden video game. Cincy has a new coaching staff. Too many unknowns with Cam right now and Luke has a concussion history and will be 30 soon. Both players need new contracts. It just doesn’t make sense when you can go young and cheaper.

    • In terms of enthusiasm at this exact juncture it's a 5 only because regular season football is back and we are 0-0 and there is the development of some key young players that I am very interested in seeing in regular season action. That brief high will probably be knocked down to 1 by October though.
    • I think the preseason performance has caused a "Meh" Cloud  to hover over the fan base.  I still have some interest and while I don't expect a lot of wins, I think there are other things I would like to see in terms of the team at least going in the right direction. On offense is Bryce the guy and is XL moving forward? Is the defense performing better with DB back Are the rookies and 2nd year players developing? That said, for me there is some intrigue but I don't think they will compete for a playoff spot.
    • Well just a few years ago they went to the playoffs and won a playoff game with Daniel Jones at QB. And while the Giants have been up and down at best since their last Super Bowl they have shown to be a more competent organization. While the Panthers haven't so much as sniffed the playoffs in nearly a decade. Logic would dictate that the Giants strategy has a high probability to be at least modestly successful. The Panthers? Eh.
