Non-Saxy Offseason Predictions: Franchise Reset Edition

I will coin my predictions as OTTOs...otherwise known as: Often trusted telepathic observances.  These are however non-saxy as in I am not wanting them, they're just coming to me and they needed to be ushered into the ethos...

Otto #1: _________________________

Otto #2: Panthers will not draft anyone at #7, as it won't remain our pick! Someone trades up to us for Herbert.  We start collecting draft capital.  Future 1st minimum.

Otto #3: A WR will be a major trade target.  Allen, Keenan

Otto #3.5: Rory Shiamese shall see the seas, the breeze, the trees.  Hommmmmm

Otto# 4: Cam will end up on the Las Vegas Raiders

Otto #4.5: A major archaeological discovery will be made in the Amazon, causing a major shift in mainstream history. The jungle is actually man made post-cataclysm.  World's turned upside down!

Otto #5: Our 2020 starting QB leading the tank machine shall be...wait for it...Nate Sudfeld. Like buttah.

Otto #6: We have a minimum of two draft day and two rather publicized offseason trades

Let's discuss what Joe Brady can do with Sudfeld, CMC, Allen, and Moore.  Plus add in the boat load of picks from this scenario and how this roster will net us Fields or Lawrence.  I personally think #1 is the most attainable.

Huzzah!

The more I think about it the more I think that hurney has put his faith in will Grier.  They are going to start surrounding him with pieces he needs to succeed starting with the line.  Carolina has a lot of huge gaping holes on the o-line.  Many of you will not agree but I believe that will Grier will be the quarterback going forward.  The priority of this draft will be to fix that oline

He will go forward as much as Jimmy Clausen did. Until we draft an elite QB in the top few picks of the draft

Now that Ron is gone and we have a coach obsessed about winning, we will not tank anymore.

With roster we may field, it may be out of his control.  But if he turns it around year 1, and if it is without Cam and we're looking at a pick in the teens to 20s next year, I will be utterly mystified at what becomes of our QB position.

Mystified I say! Shook! I'll write it in a book.

I liked Saxy's thinking better.  He's thinking outside the box.

Plus he has good weed.

QB position, let’s see here

Cam - he is the best QB in our history, can he be a pocket passer and stay healthy - I want to hear from the doctors and see him in practice before doing anything

Allen - he is a game manager in what was his first active season.  The more you ask of him the more he will struggle, if team around him is great he will succeed.

Grier - long shot to become anything, good mobility and that’s all

Vibes Vibing GIF by Married At First Sight Australia

It's pretty obvious Sudfeld or Beathard will be next in line.  We're vibing Cap'

Brady's offense could be wild I say, wild! He's the wild child, not so mild.  A spicy ging.

Beware of the gingers.  Too bad we don't have McDermott to complete the set.

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
