Players I Like: Patrick Queen

This is one to keep an eye on after the Luke retirement.  His stock is really shooting up and is a Great potential pick in rd 2 if he falls to us.

I literally was just commenting about him in another thread.  I like the kid too, hopefully his stock doesn't soar.  We need LBs, but we need guys in the trenches too and that should be addressed first

Is he really all the way up to the 2nd round now?  If Shaq is taking over the middle, I like him as the Sam LB in the 4-3.

Most have him top 40 overall

A few have him the #2 LB behind Simmons.  And his stock is expected to shoot up more at the combine.  Kid isnt quite the Freak Devin White is, but is a Solid athlete.

What I've seen of him, reminds me a lot of a young Thomas Davis.

He is a solid pick for today's NFL where the LBs have to cover so much now. Obviously can't take him at 7 but anything later in the draft I wouldn't be mad at.

I want Brown 1st, this guy or Oklahoma mlb 2nd and a LG in the 3rd. Healthy Short with Brown would do wonders for our defensive line. Plus Burns will be a year better coming off the edge.

We will get at least one or two more from the Cam trade.  We ain’t trading up for Burrow.

Unless Tua falls to 7 I'm all for trading down. We have so many holes on this team and need as many picks as we can possibly get in rounds 1-3

I have not paid much attention to college football this year--moving to a new house and developing my awesomely-impressive Panther intelligence (as if I had to state the obvious ) so I can say this--I was watching the LSU-Clemson game, and I remember thinking "The best LB on the field may not play for Clemson." 

Of course that was an exaggeration, but he kept catching my eye and I had never heard of him.

I do not think he will, but who knows? If Tua is not ready to go next season, will a GM in the top 6 want to put their #1 pick on layaway?  Most of those guys are in trouble anyway.  They could convince themselves that a healthy Herbert who can play in 2020 is better than a gimpy Tua.   Most of those GMs are on the hot seat and taking a flyer on a player like Tua that does not pay immediate results could be a death sentence--the Panthers might be the only team in the first 8 picks that has a patient, long-term plan.

I think (this is January and the draft is in April--so what could happen to change things?)  that Tua drops and Herbert rises.
