It’s either Smitty or Peppers for me. Right now, nobody else really comes close.

Perhaps if we keep CMC throughout his whole career and he delivers another couple of performances like this season but honestly Pep and Steve take 1a and 1b for me

Probably the greatest Panther ever.

Gentlemen,  the statue of one Sam Mills Jr. would like a word with you both.

For overalls what they meant to the team. Smith by a mile, second would be luke

Luke is definitely the best player in team history. His raw talent, instincts and ability to be a DC on the field was on a level never seen before. As long as he was MLB the defense could always be competitive because he would put guys in the right place. His impact on his side of the ball was greater than Smittys. And I say this believing that pound for pound Smith is the GOAT WR. But the nature of his position versus what Luke could do and impact on the game isn’t the same.

For me it’s:

1. Luke

2. Smith

3. Peppers (overall career. If it was game day I’d take Cam over him)

4. Cam Newton

Mills was awesome and meant a lot to this team. But he spent the vast majority of his career playing for a division rival and only had 3 years here. What he meant to the team in spirit was immense. But as far as being a Panther goes, I can’t rank him ahead of Pep, Smitty, Cam or Luke personally

Cam Newton is the best Panther ever. But 89 is up there. He’s also the most fascinating to listen to.

Remember when Smitty was cut? They made a song for him and was aired all over the radio station for days. I don’t see Cam getting that. He’ll just get a mural like Luke.

I would say definitely. I’ve seen many come and go but nobody beats him for me.

You needed this to confirm that. Been saying that for a while.

Confirmed.

When he was a rookie, a kid (about 8) asked him for an autograph at an OTA-the kid had a mini helmet.  He told the kid, "Nah, I can't be doing that until I sign my contract."  Then he looked back at the kid and laughed.  I thought that was odd--never heard that rule.  About that time, some other player--I think it was Dante Rosario-told the kid so DWill could hear him, "I will sign it for you, son.  What is your name?"  That was cool.

It’s kind of understandable that he is the way he is. Being 5 years old and watching your mother get beat around had to create all sorts of unresolved anger and trauma.

My stepdad was abusive. All it ever made me want to do was one day give my child the opposite. It did make me angry but it didnt make me a mean person.

Best thing you could have done--break the cycle. I call that "honoring the promises I made to myself"

Love him for what he did for our franchise, and think he’s the best panther of all time, but his comments on the QB situation proves to me that he can’t stand not being looked at as not being the star/Savior. I know F150 panther nation will cling to this, but there’s no doubt that he’s got an axe to grind about how much credit Cam gets for 2015.
