Fake Matt Stafford Rumor

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

That’s interesting that he’s the one reporting it.

I’m a Detroiter, Bernie isn’t a beat writer and I wouldn’t even consider him a “reporter” either, he’s just one of the local channel’s main sorts anchor on the news.

Just a weird person to hear that kind of rumor from

Lmfao, when the Detriot Lions have more common sense and decency than the Carolina Panthers. :crying:

They came out and flat out said the rumor was false.

That's what you do when you aren't potentially shopping your franchise QB.

When you are, you say stuff like "We'll see when he's healthy".

If we're actively shopping a franchise quarterback then there shouldn't be any other player on the roster above consideration in moving for assets to acquire the next quarterback. That's the true "it's just business baby" model.

If someone is willing to give us a king's ransom for anyone on our team, I wouldn't turn it down

SMH, you just can’t get your head wrapped around losing Cam. There’s been threads in here about 5 year plan discussions. CMC and Moore are weapons that 100% fit in a 5 year plan. You’re mixing up it’s just business with hey let’s make stupid decisions. Giving up CMC and Moore (I include him because it’s literally the same argument and he’s not white) is opposite of the they don’t fit the 5 year plan. Cam at $35M a year, hoping he’s healthy may not fit the 5 year plan. Get it?

In a 5 year plan one does not simply wait till the 5th year for improvement. And I agree CMC & Moore are part of that plan. But we have to realize that, in that 5th year, CMC will be in his 7th season and Moore will be in his 6th. Without catastrophic changes such as injuries and CBA changes we will be having this same Cam-type discussion over those two in 4 years.

    • So... what metrics for production do you believe display these issues/limitations best? Are we only using total passing yards, height, and weight thresholds? If so, then what are those thresholds?
    • I mean as far as his size goes it's all over his tape bouncing up and down on his toes in and around the pocket trying to see the field and defenses know this as well as we do but if folks here want to live in never never land and pretend it's not a thing that's their prerogative. Even our head coach has made it a key focal point to get his footwork under control. But it's still something Bryce is going to be tested on early and often no matter how many keystrokes anyone here commits to the narrative it isn't an issue.
    • It speaks volumes that when asked to define a clear performance threshold the responses instead fixate on Bryce's size. It reinforces what’s been clear for a while now... that for some, it has never been nor will it ever be about production. Any struggles will always be chalked up to his frame, and any strong play will be downplayed or disqualified via highly mobile goalposts.
