If Luke may end up helping in some capacity, I want to hear from him before he's brought on--

Specifically on how he would personally shape the defense if he had carte blanche.  What type of scheme would he deploy, players in the league he would target, who currently works on the D.  Go deeeeep

Any thoughts of him signing on would prohibit him from talking about any player or scheme.  This is smoke and mirrors season.  Luke knows that his future for an NFL team would dictate that he be tight lipped as it is part of the job at the next level

Luke is best suited as a defensive coordinator.  He's a strategist at heart.  He needs to call the plays.  It will happen one day mark my words.

Of course he'll be tight lipped once signed but I'm just saying I'd love to get his perspective on what type of defense he would want to build.  What would he keep/change hear.

My own opinion: I think the guy who potentially has the most interesting things to say is probably Greg Olsen.

Besides the fact that he's one of the most knowledgeable guys out there, Olsen has also been known to make "unvarnished" statements from time to time,

Sorry but the best post-Panthers comments, including those about the current team, come from Steve Smith, Sr. The guy still gives the best, unfiltered insight into the organization you could ask for.

If you mean someone who suited up for us, it's going to be either Greg Olsen (very loyal to both Ron and prior ownership) or Luke, who probably won't speak much ill of anyone if he speaks about it at all.

I have a hard time imagining you'd ever get a truly honest comment from Luke.

He strikes me as one of those guys who's always going to say something positive.
