...Jensen said, "Hospital administrators might well want to see COVID-19 attached to a discharge summary or a death certificate. Why? Because if it's a straightforward, garden-variety pneumonia that a person is admitted to the hospital for – if they're Medicare – typically, the diagnosis-related group lump sum payment would be $5,000. But if it's COVID-19 pneumonia, then it's $13,000, and if that COVID-19 pneumonia patient ends up on a ventilator, it goes up to $39,000."

Ouch. Now that is disturbing.

Garden variety greed and corruption. Now that I could buy.

I mentioned to "rave reviews" about 250 pages ago, that when the government said they would be paying for all expenses related to Covid, that there would be issues.

Most conspiracies don't have hidden cameras with people dressed up as nurses in what looks like a hospital with what looks like patients, so I might lean away from conspiracy.  Maybe the lady does not like pasta, so we discount all she says.

I'm discounting what she says because she seems like a grifter.

Ah amateur conspiracy YouTube.  Also worth noting that that channel is like 10 days old.

Fraud happens every day in insurance/Medicare/Medicaid billing and so on.  I'm sure it's happening right now in the present crisis.  I'm sure there are a non-zero number of non-COVID deaths that are classified as COVID deaths either by accident or perhaps intentionally.

If you're saying there is a large-scale conspiracy going on where hospitals are intentionally killing people for federal money though you're going to need a shitload more evidence to convince me than an anti-vaccine activist with multiple non-profit corporations registered to her pretending to be a regular every day nurse putting it all on the line to tell the truth on YouTube.

I drank heavily during that period so I believe that made me immune. I have sponsored a recent study that proves keeping a certain BAC level will kill the virus.

Should be published soon in Whiskey Quarterly.

I concur. I also have been drinking since...a while. And I'm as healthy as a horse that staggers to get up and doesn't like bright lights.

^ This.   I have seen some way out poo conspiracies, especially the once in a blue moon I take a peek in the dungeon otherwise known as the TB.  Basically people are going to believe what they want to.  Was it as widespread as this nurse claims?  Who knows?  But even if it was happening on a small scale, it's too much.  Perhaps it was limited to just this one hospital.  Still too much.  Possibly the hospital overall has good record and some greedy hospital administrators made these decisions and decent people were just following orders.  Still too much.  It amazes me how people's moral compass doesn't always point north depending on the narrative.

Just put it like this, HYPOTHETICALLY, if she made another video and says that she overheard the hospital administrator claim these orders came directly from the white house, these same skeptical people would all of a sudden swear by her story.

    • So how about the Mondays after we lose? Because those Mondays after the Jags, Pats, and Bills games better have been run suicides until your legs fall off...
    • Saints trade WR Shaheed to Seahawks Seahawks get: WR Rashid Shaheed Saints get: 2026 fourth-round pick, 2026 fifth-round pick Seahawks' grade: A- Saints' grade: B+ One of the NFL's hottest passing teams just got better. The Seahawks currently rank third in EPA per dropback (0.25) and first in success rate on dropbacks (53%). And now they are adding Shaheed in a move that makes sense both on the field and in terms of where the Seahawks are as a franchise. Shaheed, 27, is averaging 1.8 yards per route run this season. But I think that sells him short because that number is down a bit from his career average entering this year (2.0) and he's been playing a role that includes running fewer vertical routes (34%) compared to last year (44%). Shaheed also has consistently posted above-average open scores in ESPN's receiver score metrics, including a 63 this season that ranks 28th among wide receivers. As a complement to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, I expect Shaheed will run downfield more often and be a bigger threat in that role than rookie Tory Horton was. When Cooper Kupp returns, he and Shaheed will make for a nice pair of secondary threats behind one of the best receivers in the league in Smith-Njigba. This is the time to strike for the Seahawks. FPI gives Seattle an 84% chance to make the playoffs and a 5% shot at winning the Super Bowl. This addition helps boost their chances without mortgaging their future the way the Colts did in the Sauce Gardner trade. Shaheed is a pending free agent but given the leverage of the moment for the Seahawks and their need I think they ought to be plenty willing to pay the cost. Shaheed is young enough to where if Seattle doesn't retain him he should sign a free agent contract that would yield Seattle a compensatory pick -- if the Seahawks don't nullify that pick with signings of their own. Because the Seahawks currently have $79 million in cap space next year, per OverTheCap, getting that compensatory pick is not guaranteed. The Saints are not rolling in cap space the way the Seahawks are -- and thus would land a compensatory pick for Shaheed -- but they got more draft capital this way than they otherwise would have. Considering New Orleans' 1-8 record, this should have been an easy decision.
