Have you seen the state of higher education lately?  I'd give as just much respect to a trashman's opinion to a glorified doctor who paid for his degree.

Don't take this the wrong way because I'm legitimately curious about a couple things.

1. Where are you gathering your information regarding the state of medical education to judge the validity of a medical doctor's opinion? Do you audit medical school programs as part of your profession and have firsthand witnessed the decline in their training quality?

2. What is your opinion of what qualifies as "lately"? Because the divide is largely centered on the opinion of Dr. Fauci vs Donald Trump. Fauci is 79 years old and graduated medical school in 1966.

3. What do you mean by a doctor paying for his degree? Are you suggesting that you can buy a medical diploma and that it isn't one of, if not the most competitive graduate program to get into in the United States? Also, do you discount the several years of residency training required (where you are getting paid, not doing the paying), working upwards of 80 hour weeks where you have to demonstrate competence before you can independently practice medicine?

I'm not saying all doctors' opinions should be revered without question. But if I have a question about trash, I'll ask a trashman and if I have a question about a virus, you bet I'm going to ask an Infectious Disease specialist. But that's me personally. Some have called me unconventional.

The whole 'wearing a mask doesn't benefit me so I won't do it' angle is incorrect in numerous ways that have been discussed in recent pages.

That's not even the angle, I wear my mask.  It's trying to compare what people get paid for vs doing something for free.  Its dumb.

I guess I will go around asking for lap dances from strange women.  Then when they refuse I will say "but the girls that get paid to do it don't have an issue with it."

The doctors we see and hear concerning this virus are paid by MSM.  They are as full of it as politicians are.  Schooling is on the decline and I'd guess most Doctors don't know their hand from their foot without googling it.  Statistics are going to be limited since hospitals keep that stuff sealed tighter than the FBI.

And, it pains me to even reply to your post because you took my post so literally.  Do you honestly expect me to write you a research paper concerning the decline of higher education?

You're making the statement so yes, that burden of proof lies with you.

    • So happy that LaMelo got the layup to go and *won* the game. How happy he was after the game, that's what a young dude like him needs to keep it going and keep the belief going. If we lose, LaMelo gets blamed, and he's got an offseason to be in his head and hear the noise like the last few years. The season might still have an ugly ending, but weirdly feels like last night was HUGE for this team moving forward.
    • My thoughts on Carolina's post-season run: Obviously, the season began with a below average Freddie Andersen and everyone hoping Kochetkov would pick up the slack, until he got hurt. Enter Brandon Bussi who had a made-for-TV movie type run until the end of the season, when he came crashing back to earth, his save % drops under .900 and the team needs to score 5-6 goals to win games. Freddie has shown signs of a resurgence and Bussi looked pretty good the last 2 games of the season, but both sample sizes are small and questions abound for all 3 goalies. The physicality of playoff hockey will take its toll. Save for a few players, the Canes best players are small, their top 2 lines are small and there's no getting around that. The only way to protect the size disadvantage is a strong forecheck. Allowing opposing teams to establish the offensive zone and create board battles with smaller players will hurt Carolina. The Stankoven line could be a difference-maker. If they continue to play well against lower defensive pairs, it only adds to the depth of the team.  The Aho line had stretches of absenteeism during the season. The Canes cannot afford to have them dry up offensively and leave the scoring to Ehlers and the Stankoven line. If they aren't performing well, teams will simply roll their best lines out on the Canes best playing lines.  If the Canes can get by Ottawa and get some help from Boston against Buffalo, I think they have a legit shot to make the finals. Make no mistake, I think their toughest challenges are Ottawa and Buffalo in the East.
