The Final Numbers: 3 years, 63 million dollars for Teddy Bridgewater

So a “better” player that is 5 years younger on a complete rebuild. For one year that isn’t going to go well anyhow. At close to 50% highest salary? What’s the thought process. They eat 9.6M dead cap + 13M for Okung. That 22.6M to keep the LT of the future away from LT.

Best bet is to wait for a LT to go down on another team and is desperate enough to trade for Okung. Get a 3rd and it’s back to what it should have been. A trade for a pick not a salary.

Well in hindsight when you see the other moves we have made, it makes a lot less sense. At the time, I thought it was a reasonable trade. Now when you see all the other bumbling moves, it doesn't make a lot of sense. But, without Okung, we'd be seeing a lot of Kyle Allen again because Bridgewater would get broken in half with our other LT options.

And I definitely understand surface level grades but they are just that at this point, surface level. We were on the hook for 2 more years with him and the current staff didn't feel like he fit our plan/team dynamic moving forward.

Trust the process...

You eat 9.6M dead cap and you’re not on the hook for anything. We could have gotten a pick and been “off the hook”. Instead we go another bill to pay. So you evidently don’t understand.

That’s fair.

I don't think even the most hardcore Panthers fan has any trust of the process so far. Between the owner, the GM and the head coach, I think they are just basically fumbling around in the dark trying to figure it all out.

What are your big knocks against the process so far?

I'm not a Hurney fan and don't understand the Burris contract but I think its too soon to say we are fumbling around in the dark. Especially with the poo show that has been NFL FA so far this year.

I also do not like how Tepper is handling the BoA stadium renovations in regards to the PSL owners.

Outside of those two issues I think its far far too soon to give up on the foreseeable future.

Maybe I don't understand. You are saying if we just cut Trai we eat 9.6M this year and get a comp pick next year?

I am looking at it as we got rid of a player/contract we didn't want and gained a serviceable vet stop gap LT for a year for not much more than we were paying a declining guard. Am I completely off base?

Pretty sure you're wrong on all accounts.

I don't think Teddy will keep us from getting a top 5 pick. Name 5 starting QB's that are worse than Teddy and 3 defenses worse than ours?

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
