But there is an increasingly slim chance that we even get football this upcoming season. As an employee of one of front runners in the bio-pharm industry working on a cure/treatment. I just don’t see it happening.  
 

My question to y’all is, how does the nfl handle everything if this is the case. Years under contract, players salaries, draft able players, etc.

I believe players are paid after games.  So if no games, no check.  As far as contracts, if there was no season all contracts would be on hold until the next season.  A player must play 6 games to acrue one season.  I believe they could draft and work out contracts including signing bonus and then not play till the following season. 

These are all guesses on my part

There's so much that is unknown right now that the season can't be predicted. Even if they suspend off season camps until Fall and have a shortened season, the big question remains what are fans going to do? Will crowds continue to be frowned upon and will they listen? You have to consider, too, that the economy is going to tank, unemployment will rise probably to double digits. Money spent on football games is discretionary money and there may not be a lot of that around. Your average fan may be asking, do I pay the mortgage, pay bills, get my prescriptions, put food on the table or go to Sunday's football game? The NFL may enforce the blackout rule again.

There's also questions about next year's draft. Will there even be college football in 2020?

Not trying to be a dick man, but in September if this is not gone, 90% of the world will have been infected and people will be starting to get sick of wasting months of their lives to save less people that will starve as of the result of a bad economy.

The government doesn't want to keep handing out checks, businesses want to make money, people want to make  money to feed their families. Football WILL happen, a 9 month old illness isn't stopping it. 

I completely understand and respect your profession, but the president himself said the 18 month plan is false. You don't need a cure, you just need treatment for it that many places as yours are testing at the moment.

That's like saying our place isn't anywhere close to finding a breakthrough, so the whole world must be a year away. Isreal says that have something that will be ready IN 60 DAYS. I recall hearing someone from the CDC saying that testing rules would be more lenient this time due to the circumstance and it would set records if a vaccine is found soon.

Good post. A vaccine might be a ways away but it’s getting this under control with testing and treatment options. If they can do that over the next few months things will open up. Hopefully, that is the case. Would be great to have a cure sooner but I don’t think we’ll be locked up until 2021.

Highly unlikely. We might have a vaccine in 12 months and we might not. Plenty of work on that now and there are a lot of current drugs that are showing some promise in combating it in the meantime. In the Western world the overall mortality rate is relatively low(save for Italy). The big losses of life will be if this starts spreading rapidly in developing and third world countries. The death figures will likely be astronomically higher than in China, Europe and the US. 

We may not be well prepared here in the US but we at least have a lot of infrastructure and resources. That is not the case in the third world.

      Play point guard while throwing to… in 2023: Mingo - bust. Hurt/hasn’t done a thing in Dallas. Well on his way out of league  Chark - no longer in league  Hurst - no longer in league Marshall - hasn’t done a thing  Sullivan/Strachan - pretty much same dude. Both not playing  Thielen - hasn’t done a damn thing since he left Carolina  Miles Sanders - nothing    2024: Legette - rookie WR who still has no idea what he’s doing  Mingo - see above  Coker - when he did play/healthy he was solid  Thielen - see above  Sanders - bust Diontae Johnson - headache. Out of league. Failed on 12 teams in 2024 There’s more names but again all irrelevant and doing nothing in the league. This is the crap and turnover Bryce has dealt with the first two seasons. Given the type of QB Bryce is he stood no chance with these guys. We’re finally seeing improvement because there’s some consistency at least now. It would be nice if we could get Bryce a tight end worth a Damn so he could use the middle of the field more often. Plus we’ve had 10 different OL combinations this season as well or something absurd  What an absolute disaster this has been since the trade up.

      I mean we are limited in our options realistically, Howell is a Baker esque player who put up 4k and 22tds in his one year starting... with no weapons and a horrible oline. Oh I'm sure out the gates he wouldnt have a chance vs teppers golden brycey but if we stumble out he gates again Canales may injury list him again to try and save his job.
