Well yeah, so what?   Were you expecting Lobster?

Nope, but I also didn't expect to forego comp picks to sign likely bottom of the roster type guys. These types of guys are usually signed late into free agency so that they don't impact comp pick consideration.

I don't understand why we're screwing ourselves on comp picks with these bottom of the roster type signings. It just doesn't make any sense.

Heres what I know about that. Herniay and crew could already (in ALL their mastery) planned that they wouldnt get comp picks. Another is agent&players, its the main one. Players want to sign early cause youre part of program earlier, thus increasing your shot at making the team. Either by learning the system/language or team doesnt need a draft one now per say. Weird enough if a player is a "2million" per type of player, you could offer less to sign now. Some players play the waiting game and teams find another solutions, then youre "retired".

Herniay makes it super easy to find faults, but here is not the case. All teams are aware of the great WR draft class, many will be out of a job as a result. He is taking advantage of the situation. (small as it maybe). Robby Anderson could be in play, who knows at this point...

I agree but you have to come to grips with the situation man or you're going to pop a vessel worrying about this stuff.  Sit back and watch the master work.

    • I’m really having a hard time understanding how this actually went down. -Renfrow expected to make roster as 2nd/3rd string. -Panthers cut Renfrow; Keep Brycen Tremayne, and add UDFA receiver (Dalevon Campbell) to active roster.  -Canales/Morgan say it’s totally up to Hunter whether he wants to come back or not, they would love to have him.    -Renfrow not signed to PS -Panthers trade Adam Thielen -Hunter Renfrow signed to active roster with a raise after an injury to Coker nobody heard about and is likely to start.    Our WR room is now: -Xavier Legette (2024 1st round pick) -Tet McMillan (2025 1st round pick) -Hunter Renfrow (1 year out of the league) -David Moore (Canales’ friend? A guy way past his prime) -Jimmy Horn (Likely a Shi Smith reprint, but has potential 2025 6th round pick, weighs 174 lbs) -Brycen Tremayne (2023 UDFA who was on Washington’s PS for 2 years and caught 1 pass for -2 yards and averaged 300 yards per year at Stanford) -Dalevon Campbell (2025 UDFA had a good preseason but had 1463 yards and 3 TDs over 5 college seasons at 3 different schools). What the hell is going on?
    • Not uncommon for week 1 games. Especially against good defenses. It’s why I prefer my team play these small schools week 1 if they are going to play them. Gives the offense time to get calibrated.
