Well Allen's contract was roughly $11.67 versus the $19.2 mil that Cam was owed.

I wish him nothing but the best he has been amazing here. I know the NFL is a business but i want him to do well where ever he is.

If they were going to get anything for Newton it would have been before Free agency

and wouldn't have been the 1st or 2nd round pick people had hopes for

The Panthers had no intentions of trading him

They wanted to look good by saying they are allowing him to seek a trade. But if you couldnt see this  release coming i dont know what to say

I think they might have been able to get a 3rd/4th round pick or something. My guess is that they asked for too much and then promptly nuked their entire market by signing Bridgewater.

The dumbest thing we did as a franchise was not finding a way to give cam his chance to come back and prove it. I hope this propels him to succeed in his future endeavors as we all thought they would in Black and Blue.

If we were going to sink the ship we should've at least let the captain go down with it.
