Get it on the record. Who do you think the Panthers are going to pick in the first round? We’ll go back on Thursday night and see who’s right.

***this is not who you want, who do you think our brain trust will pick

I’m 96.7% sure we’re going to trade up to number 4 with the Giants and take Tua Tagovailoa—costing us our 3rd and 4th rounders this year and another mid round pick next year. It’s happening.

I’m calling it now, Rhule and Brady go take their qb of the future with Tua Tagovailoa. They didn’t come here to try and win .500 with Teddy Bridgewater. And they showed in free agency that they are not trying to tank for Trevor Lawrence. Panthers fans can suck it. Team Tua!

I'm not completely opposed to the idea of taking Kinlaw or Henderson, but if we do, I would GREATLY prefer to trade down. I don't want to reach on a boom or bust defensive prospect when there are likely going to be great OT options available. We've struggled mightily at OT for a decade. Our D is gonna be terrible no matter what we do in the draft. If Brown and Simmons are off the board and we can't orchestrate a trade down, just take a damn OT hog mollie and call it a day.

What about the remaining 3.3%?

No, I have had the same thought---it makes sense.  Gettlemen can get his tackle at #7, add a pick or two.

I mentioned the fact that we could trade up to Nippleshorts for this pick--

Here is the other thing that contributes to this theory---Vegas is saying the second QB drafted is going to be Herbert.

Suddenly, we have a QB to trade in 2021 (if Bridgewater plays well) and a starting franchise qb.

I am not sure I WANT this to happen, but it seems possible.

    • I agree.  I don’t think I have ever been accused of being a Howell fan. No more than fan of some other random QB.   But I watched and I saw. He has some talent. Maybe I didn’t watch close enough to see his weaknesses.
    • He is a pit bull when it comes to that.  And after he missed out last year on Williams, it seems he is trying a different approach, looks like. Don’t hold back. No half measures, because someone will come and full measure your ass. Close the deal. He left a little opening for The Patriots last year.  He closed so far this year. Of what we know about.
    • They have been doing the mercenary one year RB now for a little while. Foreman..  It works pretty well. You can find ball carriers. The passing game trips a lot of those guys up. Pass blocking, route running, they have a lot to know.    Rico wasn’t a great pass blocker but he got in the way most of the time. He is a really good pass catcher.     He’s tough. Needs to find out why he was cramping late in the games. If he can fix that maybe can step up even more. Wish him luck. I think he’ll do well.    If Brooks can be something, what a bonus that would be at this point.  I really believe they went for him because of his extra layer with being a good receiver. And we need more of that with what we are working with trying to move the ball.
