Is Reed a C?  I had him as a LG.  I know he can play both.  With the addition of Schofield and Miller, Reed could be expendable--but his ability to play G and C might be too important.  I think he is decent.

Man, I hope Davis has not spent his money---he sure gets mentioned every time we need some room.

I've had him on the chopping block all offseason.  I'm frankly shocked it hasn't happened yet.

Great idea guys. Let's get rid of one overrated 3 time pro bowl guard whose play was noticeably declining so we can overpay for another who's 3 years older. That sounds smart! New Orleans loved him so much they drafted his replacement with their most valuable draft pick instead of solidifying another position (like say, wr 2 in a historically good wr draft class), cut him and accepted the $5 million dead cap.

He was due about $8m this year, I don't see another team offering him that much or else they could have just traded for him and his cost would have been set.

I would definitely consider him at the right price, that $3-$5m range.  I'm not sure he will get a longer term deal in the range he would want so he might take a one year deal and look to sign a bigger deal next offseason.

I was kidding--by the way---I piss people off with my dry sense of "humor."  Ruiz is a natural center--he was underrated and you all got a great value--even if he went before most thought he would.

Still, if you have ever noticed, Brees does he best work without middle pressure. Ruiz just never gets fooled, is always balanced, and he dominates on contact.  He would be my center and I would make the adjustments you suggest.

Ahhh gotcha, I should’ve picked that up, haha. And much appreciated, I was a bit annoyed in the moment because I really wanted Murray before he got snagged then I was all aboard the Queen train but after thinking about it for a day, it was the right move for the team. Especially since we got our LB when Baun ended up falling to us.

But yeah, definitely feel he’ll be the center even though I hate moving guys around after they’ve “settled in”.

If there's one thing I envy about the Saints, it's the investment that they've put into their offensive line.

Indeed, for those that hadn’t looked at it closely, since 2015, we’ve spent three 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick (which was our first pick) on OL.

It’s not sexy by any means, but for the most part, we’ve been able to keep Brees upright.
