Kuechly could join scouting staff

Rhule is pretty strongly tied to Phil Snow. Not sure he'd move on from him unless Snow did it himself.

A career track in personnel might make more sense.

That is, unless Kuechly were to go somewhere else.

Snow is 64 and has been coaching since ‘76. I don’t think he’ll be here very long whether he does well or not. At some point someone will be groomed behind him to take over.  Not sure Luke will be a DC, seems like he may want less of the time commitment and having to travel (hence why he’s starting in scouting rather than coaching or media), but if not him it’ll be someone else sooner or later.

highly doubt the panthers would announce this unless it was all but written in stone, can't wait

I'm kinda surprised it's with us since virtually all of his connections with the Panthers' organization are gone at this point. I figured if he wanted to go this route, it would've been at least as likely to be with the Bills or Redskins vs. the Panthers. Tepper must've opened that checkbook. He said he wanted Luke to remain a part of the organization and I guess he meant it.

I'd personally like to see him take at least this year off and enjoy retirement, family etc.  Coming back so soon definitely would make me want to scratch the itch of also playing.

I also wonder how much covid impacted this decision, I'm sure he didn't expect to be locked into his home for 3-4 months after retiring lol.

Wade Phillips is 72.

Pete Carroll is 68 (so is Belichick).

Bruce Arians is 67.

Dick LeBeau coached till he was 70, and there are plenty of other current coordinators in their 60s.

It's no lock that Snow is a short timer.

He's only 29 and has a motor that rev's at RPM's like an Indy car...

...the guy would go bonkers just puttering around the house.

You are spot on.

Marv Levy coached at age 72 and then came back as a GM at age 80!

Snow's health is great and he easily has a good 6-to-8 years in him...

...he's in it for the Super Bowl win, and the attempted repeat!!

Prediction:   Retires at age 71 with a ring.

Has anyone heard from Luke directly? Or is this just click bait from some of the talking heads? Please post if you have access to a direct quote.

The story came from the Panthers.

They're kind of a reliable source.

Edit: Never mind, someone else already mentioned Marv Levy.
