Guess who just said this ............"historically I'm one of the best quarterbacks to play the game."

Jameis Winston signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Saints to back up Drew Brees for the 2020 season. While Winston will have a chance to learn from a future Hall of Fame quarterback, he will not be a starting quarterback in 2020, a year after he led the NFL in passing yards (5,109) but also in interceptions (30).

While he is embracing his new role in New Orleans, the 26-year-old Winston is not resigned to spend the rest of his career as a backup. In fact, he believes that he is better than "a lot" of quarterbacks who will start for their respective franchises this season.

"I know what I'm worth," Winston recently said in an interview with Bleacher Report's Tyler Dunne. "And I know day in and day out, without publicly coming in and saying it, that historically I'm one of the best quarterbacks to play the game."

Winston has changed more than just teams this offseason. He has dropped nearly 20 pounds off of his 6-foot-4 frame after embracing a vegan diet. Winston has also been working with trainers on improving his habits in the pocket after throwing 88 interceptions during his five seasons in Tampa Bay.

Ladypanther, I’m not going to jump on board and bust you for not seeing the same thread posted although We visit this place multiple times a day and it’s rare that nothing new has been posted and it’s weird that as much as you are on here you did not see the new one posted by mr scot but ...you know, I digress ..

The “Cam condo for sale”  post buys a lot of good will . That was a good one !

Pie was earned, and given.

What if Lady Panther has blocked Mr Scot? Also, it's not like Mr Scot's title was obvious

I think everyone is missing the boat and sidestepping the issue by focusing on ladypanther double posting a topic. The real issue is the painful truth of what JW said. Historically speaking he's definately one of the 3 or 4 hundred best quarterbacks to play the game. As Panther fans we may not want to admit it, but it's hard to argue that of all the qb's who ever played only 5 or 6 hundred at the very most could be considered better than Winston. So let's all stop needling the OP and confront the cold hard truth.

There couldn't possibly be more than 7 or 8 hundred qb's better than Jameis in the history of the game.

1000 Tops.

My apologies everyone....I did look for this topic before I posted but just missed it.

It’s alright. We were just teasing since there’s so many new threads every day! I mean this news cycle is just dead. There’s literally nothing to discuss.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
