Probably get their whole roster signed up to be lab dummies for one of the vaccine trials

Coach B is throwing Rona party to get the team infected and over it before season starts.

I think  its probably 70% the season is canceled at this point.

Side note. That makes letting Cam go even worse because he could have had another year to be healthy.

Well, that's one way to look at it. But, the real question is what would have happened with his contract? Hypothetically, if there is no football, no one gets paid.....but does that mean those contracts just push forward? Does that last year become null and void?

This is uncharted territory.

I still don’t believe rushing into it is the best choice. So many people want things to feel some what normal again but it shouldn’t be at the expense of other peoples well being for our viewing pleasure. Times like this people need to understand their own personal bias and wishes need to be put aside and allow these men to live through this like so many of us are trying to do. It’s not the end of the world there will be football again people relax and find some perspective with life.

This time money and resources are being allocated to find a vaccine that have never been available. Literally billions. And it is a world wide effort. The reality is that several vaccines have been developed already and one promising one is already going to begin stage 2 testing on humans. This is 100 times faster than the past. The sticking point has always been waiting to see if the vaccine can protect folks from getting it once antibodies are formed.  That used to take years as you don't want to infect people with the virus but see how many naturally get infected on their own. This time I understand that people are volunteering to go through it to quickly move things along. Plus companies are already producing millions of doses of the vaccine so if it is deemed safe and effective they can roll out doses very quickly. What I have read it that they expect the vaccine to be approved and ready in the next 6-12 months. Now it might be the immunity doesn't last and you will need boosters perhaps yearly.

But I think that this is a novel virus and we are doing novel things. The inevitability of a million or more people dying from Covid 19 is not acceptable or inevitable. And if everyone gets it in this country and only 1/2 of 1% die that is almost 2 million folks. More than every war we have ever fought.

It also isn’t mutating at a fast rate, which is helping things.

Why don't we just cancel it for the next 2-3 years? No guarantee there will be a viable vaccine or one that doesn't cause serious side effects. Everyone stay in your basements. I hope you enjoyed having football until now because its gone forever.

Or, we could tests and let the players play who aren't positive (the vast majority).

I think a lot of people of this mindset are absolutely blind to what we have in store for us this fall and winter.

I have a lot of respect for you LG, but I'm not sure how anyone could know that.

Really puts into perspective how well off these guys are as a collective whole when they can decide if it’s safe for them to “return to work.”

I don’t blame anyone for protecting themselves or their loved ones. Just an observation that many of us don’t have that luxury.

Studies have already shown that COVID is most contagious when temps are in the mid-40s. It's going to have a seasonal aspect to it just like other coronaviruses. This is a new coronavirus, but human coronaviruses aren't a wholly new phenomenon. By and large, they're seasonal.
