Bright spots and , uh, not so bright spots.

We actually did ok on runs up the middle. Jacobs got 97 yards, but needed 25 carries to do it.  Last year, he would have run for 150 straight up the middle.   Our run d on the edges and our underneath coverage was terrible today though.  That is mainly on the linebackers, de's, and safeties.  Hopefully, they get better with experience.

We surely miss 59!

KK Short , was your name even mentioned all game?

I saw a Krispy Kreme sign.

You are right--Boston, Whitehead, and KK---time to go young.  KK got paid and he is just milking the contract.  Boston?  I am not sure he is enough of an athlete--Whitehead?  Not a cerebral player.

Paradis was not abused as I thought he would be---I give Pride a gold star for playing his first game at Cb as a 4th round rookie and did fine.   Tackling was not that good, but his coverage is fine.

YGM was quiet, but for a rookie DE at his position, he did as expected.

Okung is not that good.  Moton is better.  Both were getting bull rushed, but they had good technique.

Bridgewater was fine.  A winning NFL QB--came back from 12 down---I can live with that.

Honestly today was a fun game to watch. We made some mistakes but I believe our coaches and players will learn. We aren’t done building this team. The weight of expectations with Ron, Cam, and the other vets is gone and it feels great! Enjoy the ride and lose your expectations!

Rhule calling two bubble screens on 3rd and 7 already in Fg range while you’re defense was giving up TDs was really fuging stupid...settling for FGs is something we’ve seen for 20 years and still don’t have a Lombardi. Needs to learn from that garbage calling

We lost with a team we just built against a team with familiarity and continuity. In addition to a new team and coaching staff, we did it without OTA's, Training Camp or Pre-season and walked away losing by 4. At the very least we have something to build on....

Other things to like today...

- Didn't overuse McCaffrey

- Might have found a return guy

- Barely needed our punter

- Bridgewater rallied late

- Low penalties

Concerns...

- Offensive line faded as game wore on

- DJ Moore had an up and down game

- Still weak against the run

- Pass rush was negligible
