Most likely teams to get the first pick

At this point in the season, here are the most likely teams to receive the first overall pick in the draft.

If it is the Bengals, very likely chance they would be trading their pick.

Not really worried about the Bengals or Dolphins, as Miami has already gotten a win, and they have enough talent to win a few games in the dreadful AFC East.  Burrow will only get better, and will lead his team to some victories down the stretch.  Id say the real battle is with the abhorrent Jets and the Broncos.

The Jets and Jags are the big competition, though the Jags can be frisky and might pull out 3-4 wins.  The Jets are just awful, but maybe a QB needy team will convince themselves to trade for Darnold after Gase gets canned and eliminate one mid-level competitor.  If I'm the 49ers for instance, that's a move I might be down for.  Would include Denver, but can't see them giving up on Lock just yet.

As long as we wind up Top 5, feel like a QB is safely there. Some team in the Top 5 is going to take Sewell, and then maybe one defender/WR could go.

This time last year, Burrow was rated a third day pick and even a seventh rounder.  There’s a chance that other QBs will make a similar leap up the board.  I’d be fine with letting Brady evaluate multiple QBs and make a decision whether to use a top five pick on another player(or trade down) and take a lesser known QB later.

True, however Laurence is a Peyton Manning/Andrew Luck level prospect. Football IQ, mobility, accuracy, big arm...I'd say hes a more sure thing than Kyler Murray and Kyler is a top 7 QB now in just his second year

Both the Bengals and Dolphins could use the pick on Sewell instead of trading back. The Broncos could as well. I can’t see them missing out on a chance to get a franchise left tackle for their young QB by risking moving down 5-6 spots to a team who might want to move up for something.

I’m assuming whoever drafted this up hasn’t been watching the dolphins nor does it account for their win last night. They have a young (I think last year the youngest, this year second youngest) squad on the rise. Don’t understand the broncos being here either. Yes they lost their starting qb but their defense will keep them in games, and they have several potent offensive weapons. Now that their coach learned how time outs work, they will compete.

On the other hand, Jets look lost out there. You now have players openly attributing it to lazy practice structure. Jags and Giants should be in this mix as well.

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
