More Covid - Steelers - Titans being postponed

The NFL is rescheduling the Steelers - Titans game to later in the season after an additional Titans player and one personnel tested positive for COVID-19. It will not be played Week 4.

 

The good news here is that the Vikings have no positives so far, meaning it didn't spread during the game (hopefully).

If Steelers-Titans has to be postponed, there's a relatively easy fix. Titans have a Week 7 bye, but Steelers bye isn't until Week 8. However, Steelers play Ravens in Week 7, and Baltimore also has a Week 8 bye. So move Steelers-Titans to Week 7 and Steelers-Ravens to Week 8.

Does anyone else find it funny that literally out of ALL of these “cases” we have heard about between the MLB and NFL that ZERO resulted in hospitalizations or deaths and infact were all “asymptomatic”? when is this country going to get smart and take a more focused approach to Covid and protect those truly vulnerable and at risk, this one size fits all approach is the wrong way to go. For example, why should kids ages 18 years or younger, who literally have a better chance of getting struck by lightning twice than dying from Covid are being treated with the same abundance of caution as say a 75 year old with emphysema and heart disease?

Sweden did exactly what I suggested and guess what, they are pretty much over the Covid crisis already meanwhile Europe is surging. Extreme measures do not fix anything, only delays the inevitable. I’m reminded of the scene in Moneyball. Would you rather die slowly by taking multiple gunshots to the chest, or one quick and fast one to the head?

Are you under the impression that only young fit men are at risk of catching covid in the NFL?

They aren't being treated the same and there is no one size fits all. Football, basketball, baseball, and hockey are being played. Many if not most schools around the country are open until dumb kids like at several Universities go to frat parties and create outbreaks in their communities. It's being handled differently everywhere in this country. Where is this one size?

Our very own Panther player, Reed, was not “asymptomatic". He literally just said this in his interview yesterday.  People who are young and healthy are not immune to having serious cases, even football players (https://www.insider.com/college-football-player-jamain-stephens-dies-covid-19-2020-9) and when they think they don't matter they spread it to those who are vulnerable. This just keeps prolonging how long we deal with this because we are a selfish lazy nation. won't be the first game that gets postponed. was very surprised the short sighted NFL decided to schedule the season with the same number of bye weeks. should have extended the season length adding in more bye weeks to account for rescheduled games. idiots.

You could essentially add a COVID week at the end of the season to kick games to.   Bump playoffs a week.

We had a player who was not asymptotic. 
Also, baseball had a player who was not:

We shouldn't assume that we will know the medical details of every positive player with COVID.
