Is Robby Anderson already the best FA WR in team history?

It's early, but this guy is a player. I was originally skeptical of the signing but I've loved everything I've seen from him. He's the toughest receiver we've had since Smith.

Obviously there's not a lot of competition in team history. Only one I can think of is Ricky Proehl.

Other candidates would be bringing Moose back, Keyshawn (lol), and like... DJ Hackett?

edit* i forgot ted ginn. mea culpa

Unless you count brining Moose back then Ginn would likely be ranked above him for now. Ricky Prohel is up there but he was never a number. Keyshawn is the only other notable free agent addition. Mark Carrier and Willie Green from the earlier days were part of our expansion draft, so not really much competition.

I mean we'll see how the season goes. he's already on track to be the best FA the team has signed in several seasons, regardless of position. and it's not like his performance has been flukey. he's got wheels and the offense makes it so easy to get him the ball in space. I'll admit to being a bit surprised at how comfortable he is going across the middle, where he's made so much hay through 3 games.

it will probably be time soon to discuss how well the entire 2020 FA class is working out for the Panthers. Weatherly, Teddy, Robby, Burris, Kerr all playing substantial roles for the team. really only Whitehead has obviously disappointed so far, and he's on a bargain 1-year deal.

    • Would you be okay with this being his ceiling. Middle of the pack QB who can do basically what needs to be done to win some games. Not a franchise QB nor a total bust. Average QB at best.    Should they ride this train (if this is indeed the case), and just keep building the rest of the team out. To many needs to keep neglecting other aspects of the team for one guy. Let's face it, he is what he is.   By the way.....great win Panthers and just what we all needed. Good job
    • A few more hospital balls from Bryce and Renfrow may start rethinking his decision to return to the NFL...
    • Renfrow has played virtually the entire game both weeks 1 and 2.  I think this was just about David Moore getting XL's role.  And thus mathematically the only way to get Tremayne  work was to limit Renfrow.  Which Renfrow probably should be limited....just not this way.   You don't want David Moore playing a full game because he stinks.  But he is Canales' dude.  Tremayne or Coker or even Horn should be working in to diversify with Renfrow in slot looks.....but you need Coker or Tremayne opposite Tmac when that happens.
