Trenton Cannon is next up, and as we've seen Samuel has been mixing in several (ineffective) carries behind Davis these few games. Sounds like McC will be back sooner than later though so then we can role with him and Davis, and hopefully at that point we end the Samuel at RB experiment and leave him to focus on being the slot receiver.

Any chance we see Myles Hartfield get some looks?  He was working at DB and RB for a minute early on. Pretty sure he hasn't been active on game days to this point.

They may be using IR to hold him for a few weeks rather than put him back on practice squad where some team could snag him.

Or, he could be injured for real.

In this crazy season, who knows?

This move was made after early reports of him going back to PS.

The IR is Hurney move to protect this asset because RB would be scooped if not signed to the regular roster for the season.

By placing Reggie Bonnafon (ankle) on the practice squad injured list on Tuesday the Panthers have only two running backs, Mike Davis and Trenton Cannon, on the 53-man roster with Christian McCaffrey still on IR. Bonnafon had been called up the past two games and played in each. The only other RB on the practice squad is Peter Gurerriero

I thought this would happen next week when CMC comes off IR.  If they put Bonafon on PS they cannot reactivate him, also they risk losing him now that there is tape on him.  Because it happened this week, I wonder if there is really an issue

Bonnafon hasn't left the practice squad. He was one of the two activated players per this season's COVID rules.
