They can add weeks 18, 19 and 20 if they need to.

when the playoff start they will go to a bubble.

This should have been the plan from the start. An extended season with extra bye weeks to ensure time for rescheduled games. It was shortsighted and hardheaded to basically have a “business as usual” schedule when other leagues used precaution to prevent issues. The NFL continues to lag behind other American sports leagues. Whack-a-mole will continue because of their lack of planning and foresight.

BINGO

It's like they don't care about player safety and are trying to ram games through.

Players aren't at risk from covid. They are young, in incredible shape and have great genetics.

If every player got covid I doubt you would have 1 death.

The players could have opted out.

For example we have 70,000 college student infections and 1 death nationally.

Read a report out of Penn State. Early results on a study of college athletes who got Covid 19 is that 2 months later 40% showed some myocardial issues. Obviously not peer-reviewed or confirmed but it suggests that folks who are asymptomatic may develop symptoms weeks or even months later.  With a potential vaccine only months away it makes no sense to do anything but keep everyone's safety the only concern.

The majority of people don't trust the vaccine and most won't take it.

Then where are we going to be?

I'm on the fence about it as I was one of those that got the bad Anthrax vaccine in preparation for the Gulf War.

Only way to hopefully fix this is going to be some radical changes to the schedule.  Get to Week 8 and put everything on hiatus for a week to "reset".  Then, work in a couple of extra byes/flex weeks and extend the regular season through January or something.   This is going to be a nightmare come end of season if they keep making it up as they go.
