I know we all look for the nasty, satisfying pancake blocks but sometimes all you really need is to slow the defender down for a split second or make him account for you by altering his angle.

I feel like 9 times out of 10 when I see a big o-lineman trying to block 10+ yards downfield, it looks awkward and they rarely make clean contact cause I don’t think those big boys are usually agile or shifty enough to be engaging with DBs and LBs in the open field.

An agile DB dodges a flying block by a guard. Yeah, that's kind of what is supposed to happen. The DB did have to slow down for a second, though, so you could conceivably call it a successful effort.

Here's the deal with Reed right now... how many times have you heard his name called? Gave up a sack? Snagged a holding penalty or a false start? How many of you actually knew the guy's name?

As guards go, he's been an upgrade here. And Miller has been good  on the right side. I'm liking what I'm seeing and the effort sure ain't bad.

    • How far has ACL repair and recovery advanced since Thomas Davis had the injuries? I recall hearing that he would probably never play at a high level again. Not everyone is T.D. He proved them all wrong. I'm sure with new surgical advancements the repair would be miles of what it used to be. If Brooks is used right and fully recovered, could he possibly have a successful comeback after two tears to the same knee? Anyone with medical knowledge on this topic know if thats even possible? Canales said he should be ready for training camp. Ready for camp and playing at a high level are two different animals.   .
    • I'd hate to see it if you WERE a lover. LOL Proctor looks like Temu Mekhi Becton to me. Becton was a significantly better mover at the college level than Proctor and he busted hard as an NFL OT and has still even been terrible at OG because he still gets exposed in space even on the inside. There's a reason why most NFL OL are significantly smaller than these guys. The Jonathan Ogdens of the world are absolute unicorns.
    • I love this hat I love that it's more blue than anything and I love the NFL Draft Pin 😀
