Good news that it is only because of contact tracing and not a positive. Bad news that it is the 3rd OL on the list(though none starters) which kills depth and a kicker at a time when it is very, very difficult to bring someone in on short notice due to testing protocols. I did read that Hurney has had a backup plan in place for kicker for exactly this scenario.

The article quoted didn't say if it was a positive test or contact tracing due to being near someone. In fact the article says that they couldn't report which one it was so how did you know?

This after the report of unconfirmed positive makes it plausible that one of these guys had the positive result..

More likely it was Schofield with the positive who went on the list yesterday then these two had close contact with him and got put on the list as a result of tracing.

Apparently Joe Charlton has place-kicking chops and was recruited as a placekicker out of high school. If he's been keeping up with it, maybe he's capable of being press-ganged into doing double-duty as a kicker and punter for a week or two? Would save us a roster spot.

Charlton has more tackles in college (1), rushes (2) than field goals attempted (0) ...

And Wes Welker has more NFL field goals (1) and extra points made (2) than he had in his entire college career (0).

I'm not talking about him being a full-time replacement, I'm saying we could use him for a game or two if he's capable.
