DJ and Bridgewater

Whats the deal?

Is DJ just invisible to Teddy?

Is Teddy Truely afraid to throw downfield.

Im starting to see a trend.  And this has begun to happen every week now it seems.    Not trying to put down Teddy as he had a heckuva game.  But yet again he missed a sure fire TD (had 2 of them vs Atlanta to)

Was thinking about it after the game yesterday, and if it's not already a problem in the locker room, it will be.  Again, I don't want to seem like I'm piling on Teddy, but this is yet another constant example of why he isn't the guy moving forward.  I know he can't hit everybody that comes open every play, but there are far too many examples of this happening throughout this season on what would've been game-changing plays.  As Aikman said during the ATL broadcast, they weren't even taking DJ away and yet, Teddy wasn't getting him the ball.  There's probably at least a TD a game that we're leaving out there because he never even looks at him.

I think he might be going through his progressions too fast. If DJ isn't open the second the ball hits Teddy's hands he looks elsewhere and rarely looks back for that receiver unless he has to improvise. Which might have to do with a lack of trust in the Oline.

Its crazy since Moore is top 10 in receiving currently. 3 targets though?? (wth??)

If we had an aggressive, big armed QB we would probably be a top 3 offense right now.  The huge plays are there....Teddy just refuses to attempt any of them.

I think a big part of his problem, especially the late-game decisions, is he is pre-determining where he will throw before the play, and I think a big part of that is where he is most comfortable throwing...  I dont think he even looks at DJ there because he never planned to take a deep shot on that play (because he is not comfortable doing it).  That would be a solid 40-50 yard throw to hit him in stride.

I have DJ on my fantasy team too...  They need to develop some chemistry. Even overthrowing him when he has his guy beat will back up the secondary...

Look at you making a funny there.  Teddy . . . overthrowing DJ?  C'mon man.

We have to get all of our playmakers involved by any means. DJ is too talented not to have the chances to impact the game. Obviously nobody is going to mistake me for someone who knows more about offense than Joe Brady but I’d like to see us at least connect some quick slants, screens, something/anything to get DJ the ball if we aren’t connecting downfield.

But part of the problem is, much like when Cam was hurt and couldn't throw 40+ yards, defenses get disrespectful and start smothering and shrinking the field, so it makes those little smoke and bubble screens a lot less effective.  He's gotta push the ball downfield more.

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
