I'm still trying to be optimistic but Tepper is starting to lose favor with me.    Keeping Hurney around...... man.

It’s ridiculous. 2019 was an IOL draft. We could have had a C in McCoy and a G (T backup) in Evans. Instead we reached for Little who looked awful at the combine drills. This year in a stud OT draft, we went DT. Don’t get me wrong, I like Brown, but because of Little (i.e. Hurney) we spent $13.5M on an injured Okung and missed out on right now having an OL of Wirfs/Becton/Wills at LT, McCoy at C, Evans and Daley at G and Moton at RT. Again, no offense to Brown, but wouldn’t that young OL be nice to have instead of Little and Brown?

Here’s the top rookies this year, notice all three top tackles we could have taken:

I mean, you could literally say the same thing about our defensive line had we not drafted Brown.

Spoiler alert, this team has a LOT of holes.  We could have went with damn near any position in the draft and it would have made sense.

Well, not really. Having our LT, G and C holes filled is a lot better than having Brown fill one DT hole. We’d still have Burns, Roy and YGM. If Daley is OK at G as well you are one Moton extension away from having the entire OL set for 2+ years and your T positions set for 4+ years. I’ll take that over Brown.

The point is smart GMs draft to the strength of a draft like the Saints taking McCoy instead of reaching at a weaker position like us taking Little. If he’s such a great college scout he would know that the 2020 tackle class looked great.

Yeah we probably should've not signed Teddy or Roberts. Hell, without Teddy we may have had a realistic shot at Fields/Lawrence... Better hope that Teddy mentoring a young QB in the next 2 years was worth it, and it still could be. I can't think of a QB much better than Teddy to mentor a young guy and be the bridge until he's ready to start like Smith with Mahomes. But is that worth losing out on all that draft capital? To be determined.

We probably don't need to move up to get a decent QB if we end up with a top ten pick.

Agreed, I think we'll be in position to get one of the 4 top tier QB prospects. But you'd still prefer to have a higher pick to have your choice of QB if possible than to only have 1 or 2 to pick from. Plus the comp picks lost out on...

  • Carolina: It is now more likely that Vernon Butler’s contract will be valued as a 5th rounder than as a 6th. If that’s the case, then the Panthers would get a 5th for his dyeparture instead of a 6th for a different player’s departure.

What about Bradberry? Don't da Panthers get something for losing him???

    • Apparently, it's hip surgery for Pyotr... Thank God he's pretty young bc that is gonna be one hell of a rehab. Hopefully, Bussi can keep his throne warm for him until he's ready for his triumphant return.
    • The Urban and Reich seasons were epic NFL failures for completely different reasons while also linking these 2 QBs. Wasn't Reich fired earlier in the season by a game or something?  Trevor's bust to Youngs bust is interesting and obviously I would take the former 10 out of 10 times. Still, Trevor has only had 1 game over .500 in a season until this year when playing. What I am saying is that that HC is winning with what he has, which isn't perfect, and in a place that scrapping 9 games together is not a given...usually with help from  another QB along the way. And that's in the AFC South. And the Jags are actually paying their QB vs us hopefully dodging a horrendous 5th option. So that's a lot tougher than what it cost to field Young this year or next. I wasn't really trying to prop up Lawrence but Coen. Dude is doing good work and it showed when Carolina played them. The difference between him and DC is like Lawrence and Young at the minimum IMO.
    • With the Evro’s scheme? Burns all day.
