The one player we absolutely cannot lose this offseason.....

Taylor Moton ladies and gentleman. Every starter on our line is slated to be a free agent this offseason with the exception of center (which needs to be cut) Moton is young and someone we need to build around. Even if we are forced to use the franchise tag on him he cannot be lost to another team. Fug Hurney for not signing him sooner which will definitely cost us millions more in the long run. Long live the Moton Spike TD celebration!

There are zero reasons why Moton was not extended last off season.

Instead of extending Moton and James a year before they would have hit free agency, we instead spent that money on Shaq, Teddy, Anderson, and KK.

Dumb team.

I know Bradberry was not interested in re signing with us but damn do I wish we still had him. He’s performing as a top CB this season and he would have been great with our young and upcoming defense

Cap space change this season is going to play a big role in FA signings. I thought we should have extended him 2 years ago when he was getting chances to play but it was blatantly obvious he had talent.

No matter the cap I don’t see a way that we can afford to let him walk unless we plan on pushing our rebuild back another year

I dont either really but it will all depend on how much the cap drops. We may not be able to offer him what some of the other teams with a lot of cap room can. On the flip side, if we can sign him cheaper once the cap drops that would be great, but I dont see it happening.

I wouldn’t blink an eye if we placed the franchise tag on him. Other than CMC he is the most impactful player on our roster that is on a non rookie contract

    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
    • Canales can never get his teams ready in the first week of the season so far. Hope that changes or Ben Johnson is going to take his azz to school.
