Shackling your quarterback

My biggest problem with Jake's play yesterday was that we were moving the ball down the field on the next to last series of downs throwing short and medium range passes. We had plenty of time. In fact, imo we needed to ensure we scored and used all the clock in order to ensure New Orleans did not get the ball back. So instead of doing what was working, we threw to deep passes and both were incomplete. Even if we had completed the Smith pass, we likely would have scored too quick and still lost when New Orleans took it back the other way.

And that's Jake's fault, of course. Everything that goes wrong is.

Agreed, At this point whats the difference between starting Moore or Shackling Delhomme.

I was thinking about something similar today, what's the difference between shackling Delhomme or starting Rodney Peete. We're basically back where we were at the position. As for Moore, it would be quite different I believe.

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
