QBs at the top of the 2nd round of the NFL Draft

Ryan Mallet - I'm not a big Mallett fan at this point, I think he is still fairly raw...he has good potential, though. He's probably going to stay in school anyway.

Jevan Snead - I really wanted to like this guy, but I just can't...at least not yet. He makes bad decisions, is not overly accurate, and makes far too many mistakes for my tastes. With that said, I do believe has has all the physical tools to eventually become a very good QB, but I think if he comes out, he'll need at least a year or two on the bench before he is ready to play. Regardless, after the season he has had, I don't think he will be coming out either.

Jake Locker - Another guy I'm not big on. He has a big arm and can run, but that's about it. Like Mallett, I think he is still pretty raw. From what I understand, up until this season, he was being used much like Florida uses The Golden Calf of Bristol. So given some time to work on his game, I can see where people think he will eventually be good...but I don't belive it will be right away. Although I think he will come out, I believe another year in college would do him wonders.

Jimmy Claussen - I like him a lot. I think he is probably the only QB who is ready to step in and play as a rookie. Unfortunately, even if we do finagle a first round pick, I don't think we stand a chance at him. I think when all is said and done, he will be the first QB off the board, most likely in the top 5.

Sam Bradford - This guy scares me. He could turn out to be good in the right offense with a solid supporting cast, but I don't think he is for every offense. I believe he has serious bust potential. Nevertheless, someone will take a flier on him in the middle of the first (Redskins?) based on potential and hype. His shoulder should be fine by the time camps start, so I don't think it will be a major factor in deciding whether or not to draft him.

Tim Hiller - I have not seen him play, but from what I have read, his arm strength really scares me. It sounds like he has everything you want, but may not be able to make all the throws.

Tony Pike - I think he will be an excellent backup, but only a mediocre starting QB. I also think he is a little frail, and would really need to bulk up if he wants to survive in the NFL.

Colt McCoy - Is definitely not a 2nd round pick. He will be gone no later than the final third of round one, and depending on how he does pre-draft, he could surprise and go much higher than people think. I believe he would still need a year on the bench to learn how to take snaps under center, but he has the talent to be a very good QB.

Dan LeFevour - Another guy I have not seen play, but there are some scouts that think he is not an NFL QB. I did see some tape breakdown of him on one of the college shows, though, and from what I saw, I agree with those scouts that do not like him. From what they showed, he wasn't very impressive.

The Golden Calf of Bristol - May be able to eventually develop into a decent QB (after at least 2-3 years sitting and learning on the bench), but his greatest asset is his fire and leadership...and his toughness. However, his toughness is somewhat of a red flag for me, though. He takes (and initiates) far too much punishment, and I believe it will eventually catch up to him.

Zac Robinson - Nice college QB, probably not anything more than a backup in the pros.

If Fox is still coaching (big "if" there) I actually could see him making a move to get Jimmy Claussen.

The reason: his friendship with - and trust of - Charlie Weis.

The most logical way to go about it? No. But realistically the way things often work in the NFL? Yes.

You guys will have to trade your 2010 2nd round, 2010 4th round ,and 2011 first round pick to get back in the 1st round to get a QB. Unless you guys want a The Golden Calf of Bristol or a Tony Pike

That's the only way you guys can get back in the 1st round and grab a Franchise QB....

Jimmy Clausen

Jake Locker

Sam Bradford

Jevan Snead

Colt McCoy

(i don't think Ryan Mallet will enter the draft but if he did.... he is a 1st round pick)

All of those guys will end up as 1st round picks.... Lets not forget that Joe Flacco and Josh Freeman was thought of as 2nd or 3rd round prospects but because they both had the tools to succeed... They was drafted earlier...

Allot of teams are looking for QBs..... Even teams like the vikings (a qb after favre) and seahawks (hasselback stay hurt)

The 49ers will grab a QB with your pick.

You guys don't want to draft a Brian Brohm type guy...lol

TJ Yates should be shot if he tries to enter the draft

say you're going to invite him to the green room then just execute him on live television

:D Haha funny. TJ Yates sucks as bad Jake is right now. TJ throws to high and does not read the field very well and he does not have good accuracy. TJ would not even make it as a backup in the NFL. TJ only time for playing football will be in college. Beyond that he would never make it.

Still 4 ints in one game is suspect to say the least. That and Ponder isn't even the best QB in the ACC who is coming out for the draft this year.

I once saw Matt Ryan throw two picks in the first quarter in a game between BC and Wake. And they were ugly int's, very bad throws on his part that led to ten Wake points. He worked out ok.

I like Colt McCoy out of those. I also wouldn't mind snagging Riley Skinner with a late pick (or if he isn't drafted, bring him in). Nothing wrong with a guy who already has ties to Carolina and has proven that he can win.

Skinner will never be an NFL QB.

I wouldn't pass on McCoy in the 2nd personally. He's a smart kid and if we got Gruden he would be a perfect QB to run a version of the spread.

What about about Thad Lewis? Someone mentioned him earlier, but no one really said anything about him. He obviously isn't a top pick, but the couple of times I've seen him play he's looked pretty good. Plus he's not exactly surround by quality talent at Duke..

late round pick..

But some guys I like

Tim Hiller

Colt McCoy

John skelton

Levi brown

I like snead but if we take him..he will need to sit.

People worried about Bradford being injury prone should remember that people were also worried about Adrian Peterson being injury prone, and a lot of teams passed on him because of this. I bet they all wish they could do that draft over. I think Bradford will be ok. I still dont think he falls to us though. I also would take Tebo anytime after the 2nd if we dont take a QB before then. I would be willing to risk it. I think when a guy has that much fire and determination it always seems to make a great NFL player.
