Watson to Fins/Phins trade speculation.

top dawg

It would probably take Tua, both of their first round picks and maybe a 2nd or 3rd next year. It’s also going to make no free agents want to go to Houston because of the issues Watson is having there. Honestly there best bet is to sit with Watson and hire a PR Agent to help meet some, if not all of these needs.

That's a big question mark to me.  In watching Tua this year, he just didn't look like he had the velocity for the big boy NFL throws and his mechanics looked awkward.  He looks a lot like a left handed Mac Jones to be honest.  Watch their tape back to back sometime.  It's a little eerie.

You could be right, but I still think the upside is there. Mechanics don't bother me as much as long as you make good decisions and can actually make the throws.

It sounds like you don't really believe that he has what it takes.

We need to make an offer.  If Watson is able to leverage them enough, it might not take as much to get him as previously thought.  If he just refuses to play for them and publicly demands the trade, they'll be forced to take less.

Also, Tua is garbage, why would they want that?

You dont trade probably the 3rd best QB in the league for an undersized game manager with hip problems. The guy that just won the Heisman was Tua’s #3 receiver in college I’m not sure why people think so highly of him. He honestly reminds me of Teddy

I am really not even sure that the dolphins would want to do this

You've got a great QB prospect on a rookie contract with an abundance of cash to build around him, and an abundance of meaningful draft picks to go with it

You've made a tenured, calculated rebuild that's worked

See it through

Have you watched him this season?

Yes, exactly.  He hasn't looked very good.

I certainly wouldn't give up on him at this point unless there were some very favorable circumstances that dictated I could do so.  However, if someone twisted my arm and forced me to give a thumbs up or thumbs down based on this season, I'd go thumbs down.

Early returns on that draft seem to indicate that Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert are the real deal.  Jury still out on Jordan Love (this guy has been hurt more than any of the other rookie 1st round QB's by the off season).  That leaves Tua as the other first round QB.

Statistically speaking, the odds are against him.  First round QB's succeed at about a 48% rate.  With Burrow and Herbert already showing tremendous promise, my analytical side sees that it's stacking against him.  My eyes see that there are some concerns.

As a fan of the league as a whole, I want Tua to make it.  The league is a lot more fun to watch when it's filled with talented QB's.

The Texans #3 overall pick goes to Miami this year, so perhaps Tua + 3 + 2nd rounder gets it done.

For Watson, it's a  no-brainer. Miami has a young up and coming team with a solid defense and a very competent and young coaching staff. Plus....it's freakin' Miami and he would be the biggest name the city has had since DWade.
