When was the last time it really felt like this team wasn't on the brink of salary disaster? Honest question, as I'm sure there was one but it feels like cap is always a major concern.

This is not counting for the players that will be released in Short, Weatherly, and a few others that will give us some cap room. Once that happens, well. It won't be bordering on disaster. It'll be a tad bit better.

‘21 is another transition year. In ‘22 we have tons of space. Would rank 10th in cap space for ‘22.

Agreed, but if we cut KK and Weatherly, we’d look a lot better.

They have been in 'win now' mode for several years now.  Once their SB window finally closes, they are screwed.  This year is their last best chance to get another ring.  Brees is moving to the booth next year and they have bloated contracts everywhere.
