KK Short - did you know?

I have a problem with Shaq's contract because I don't want any expensive LBs on the team at all. Ever.

KK's body fell apart rapidly and it was bad timing contract wise. I don't mind paying big money for pass rushing DTs in principle though.

KK = Ok but bad timing.

Shaq = bad contract in principle.

DG worked this contract. Still thought Star should've received the contract over KK but hey....

Marty extended him if you haven't forgotten.  KK should have be released instead of extending.  That's Marty's calling card.

Yep.....I defended him all offseason and boy was I wrong. He is definitely done.

Same, I thought he and Brown would be a nasty combo.  Like you said, he is done and they need to part ways

I like KK but this is another blunder that Marty Hurney caused. Scotty has to clean up his mistakes that Marty did...

Blunder? How so, would you have not signed KK at that point? I know it didn’t work out. But unless you have a secret ability to see into the future, nobody argued when KK signed.

Who thought that when it happened? I don’t remember hearing anyone complain at all at the time. Yeah I’m hind sight it was a bad contract. But that happens sometimes, that’s not something a GM could control.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
