Updated QB odds and Outlooks

I really don't want anything to do with Jones or Trask in this draft, and would personally wait on Newman. I think all of the big-4 QBs are gone by 5 and if we desire one of them, we best call Cincy.

  • Jax and Detroit for sure are going QB at 1, and presumably 7, respectively.
  • I think NYJ and MIA (Watson and then HOU takes a QB) are ripe for trade backs for QB needy teams, and possibly Cincy if the OT they like isn't there.
  • ATL could also certainly consider a QB at 4.
  • Denver and SF are nipping at our heels at 9 and 12. NE at 15
  • WAS, CHI, INDY at 19, 20, & 21 are all in need, though I do think Stafford goes to one of these teams.

Yes he does, coupled with nimble scrambling skills.  Dude is an uncut diamond.  He's going to need some work, but the end result should be astonishing.  I liken him to a poor man's Mahomes and if I'm right, would certainly take a notch below Patrick's output.

Poor man's Mahomes? Rich man's Lance! In other words, the real deal!

I see some Josh Allen comparisons too. Either way...

Panthers no longer lead the Odds for Watson and not in it for Stafford.

Draft wise.

We know Lawerence will go 1 and about as good of odds with QB going #2 as there are a Healthy Cam coming back here.

Detroit ahead of us already in the draft may be able to get a late 1 for Stafford along with their 2022 1 to jump and secure their QB at 3.

Tepper and them are sending out all this smoke etc that we are going to target a QB.  But we may be rolling the same guys out there this next season.

There is zero chance that the Qb chatter is smokescreen. TB has started his last game for CAR unless it’s a rookie they’re trying to bring along slowly.

I was pretty happy with the idea of Mac Jones being the pick if the Panthers traded down in the 1st and got a few extra (needed) picks.

But then I saw Mac Jones in that Pillsbury Doughboy costume.

Except he wasn't wearing a costume.

Maybe he gets in better shape once he gets to the NFL and can dedicate some money and resources towards his fitness level, but dayum...

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
