i also have confidence in bonafant....he was playing really well before he got hurt

Ben Mason from Michigan is a hoss. He could fill that FB, H-back, short yardage/goal line void left by Armah leaving in FA.  He's the top rated FB on some boards.  Totally worth one of those 6th round comp picks.

Speaking of Michigan.  I like Chris Evans.  He is gonna make some team very happy.  As far as gurley goes I'd still like to kick the tires on him.

Would be a good pickup, and upgrade from Armah

The contact with Carson makes me think that we do indeed want a runningback, but there's no actual indication we're talking to Gurley.

Quinton Dunbar, CB (Seattle Seahawks)

The Panthers signed veteran corner Rashaan Melvin to a one-year deal, but help is still needed, especially at starting corner opposite Donte Jackson. With Rasul Douglas and Corn Elder becoming free agents this year, cornerback remains one of the Panthers biggest areas to address, as it was last offseason.

Dunbar, 28, is the lesser of the two Seahawks starting corners that were on the market this offseason — Shaquill Griffin signed a lucrative deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has never played a full 16-game season because of a variety of injuries.

Despite that, Dunbar is just a year removed from a career-best season. In 2019, he had four interceptions in just 11 games played with the Washington Football Team. He has also had at least 30 tackles in each of the past four years. With many of the top defensive backs finding homes elsewhere, the veteran could be a cheaper, short-term answer and continue to add depth to the position.

General manager Scott Fitterer has already added two former Seahawks to the roster, tight end Stephen Sullivan and wide receiver David Moore, and multiple other former NFC West players, including Haason Reddick and Morgan Fox. Continuing to add familiar players wouldn’t be a surprise. He also happens to be new Panthers linebacker Denzel Perryman’s cousin.

Steven Nelson, CB (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Nelson is another corner who could help address a big need. He has reportedly been granted permission to seek a trade from the Steelers, and a trading team would take on over $8 million with one-year left on his contract, per Over the Cap. There’s also a chance he is released, if a trade does not work out.

Over the past three seasons, Nelson, 28, has started a combined 46 games, had seven interceptions and totaled 60-plus tackles twice. His 78.1 overall Pro Football Focus grade since 2019 is tied for 11th-best in the league. Toward the later half of the 2020 season, his performance was a bit inconsistent, but his best season was in 2019 and he has plenty of big-game experience.

One reason why the Panthers might not be interested in Nelson? Length. The Seahawks are known for selecting corners with long arms, over 32 inches, and Fitterer may be looking for a starter with more length than Nelson offers (30.6 inch arms and is 5-foot-11).

Former Tennessee Titans corner Adoree’ Jackson would seemingly make sense for the Panthers, as has been previously indicated, but he’s got multiple visits scheduled elsewhere at the moment.

      I get it's subjective and I said "PFF rated him as" one of the top deep ball passers during that time, which is an accurate statement.  They are still a group of professionals that look at film and data in order to make their judgements/ratings.  These people whose data has been incorporated into a lot of teams' staffs view Bryce's deep throws as some of the best in the league during that stretch.  That tells me that he can probably throw a deep pass vs the Huddle's version of he is small and didn't do it his rookie year so he must not be able to.  That and literally seeing him do it just makes me feel he is more than capable of doing so.   Do you think PFF is skewing their opinion to prop up a QB in a bottom tier franchise?  It's just another group's opinion and I feel is pretty respected around the league currently.  It's not the gospel truth or anything.

      I still remember how happy I was that gettlegut was not the GM once he picked Jones, that was a firing pick and well..... If not for the raiders drafting Clelin Ferrell, it was the biggest draft day mistake in the last 20 some years.

      He had 251 passing yards. 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. All in all a very impressive game. Problem is I do not envision his rushing ability translating like that over the course of the upcoming season. Yeah it will be something to account for from time to time but one it's not sustainable and two you don't want to put his durability to the ultimate test against a motivated defender willing to take a penalty and a fine. And plus with our backfield. Two 1k yard rushers. That's what they're here for. Then we have a much improved WR room. That means Bryce has to elevate those passing numbers substantially. The fact of the matter is regardless of circumstances it did take him 23 games to surpass Kyle Allen's single season passing yardage from 13 games in 2020. And that is not a high bar by any means. Whatever QB tier Bryce ends up in from here amongst his peers this upcoming season when it's all said and done it will be with his arm.
